I have finished comparing the OOTP missing player list with the SABR missing images list, and updated the Missing Player list accordingly. You can download the updated list from my FileFront page. The list is an Excel spreadsheet with three separate worksheets (1871-75, 1876-99, and 1900-).

In addition to the 10 unverified post-1900 players I previously removed from the facepack, I also removed eight 19th Century players:

John Ryan 1884
Dan Sheehan 1884
Tony Madigan 1886
Art McCoy 1889
John Riddle 1889
(Unknown) Stafford 1890
John Harry Atkinson 1895

All have been added to the missing list. With the re-addition of the above players and removal of the recently found images, we have 810 players remaining on the missing list.

I've added some census and biographical data in the form of field notes attached to the last name field (A column) for several of the missing players. If you hover your mouse over an entry with a red triangle in the upper-right corner, you will see the attached note.

I'm putting together the next release of the facepack, and wanted to poll the group before I post it. My rationale for selecting images has been (in order):

1. Visibility/identifiability
2. Image resolution
3. Major League uniform
4. Color image
5. Baseball uniform

Especially in the case of older players (such as 19th Century), I have not established a preference for line drawing or newspaper illustration vs. photo. I am considering updating some fuzzy photos in the facepack with much clearer newspaper illustrations, but wanted to get some feedback from the group.

I'm also holding off on adding a lot of the images culled from Baseball-Reference, due to many questionable/incorrect IDs. I'll go through images individually to verify IDs before adding to the facepack.

If you have strong feelings about any of the above, please let me know either via post or private message.
