Not sure if this has been mentioned. Yasmani Grandahl started 33 games at first last year, but has no rating. Also Guerrero of the Dodgers has 3 options remaining, but has a clause in his contract that enables him to refuse minor league assignment this year. Not sure how you'd handle that.
Not sure if this is the spot, but maybe you can tell me where I could get an answer. I find a few players in the minors who are listed at a position, say ss, and have a rating there when I ask osa for scouting, but no rating anywhere when I ask my scout. What will happen if I play him at short? Will he play like the 30/100 osa says, or the 0/100 my scout says? |

Look at his IF range, IF arm, etc. and figure it for yourself. Note that those ratings are also opinions. |

Matt Wieters
I'm curious to know why Matt Wieters' catcher ratings are somewhat low. I noticed Caleb Joseph's ratings are a lot higher compared to Wieters. Isn't Matt Wieters one of the best defensive catchers in the game?
PETCOA and the Orioles don't get along very well. |

Though I agree the Orioles are vastly underrated by metrics. Side note: How is Chris Davis going to be managed in the next patch? |

Not sure if this has been mentioned and not sure if there's anything that can be done about it, but Chase Utley showed up in my random debut historical with a city of birth of Pasadena, TX despite the fact that in the historicaldatabase.odb it's listed as Pasadena, CA as it should be.

I am going to report several issues of ***:
Hiroki Kuroda of Hiroshima Toyo Carp: His salary should be $4,000,000. Logan Ondrusek of Tokyo Yakult Swallows: His salary should be $1,200,000. Guillermo Moscoso, Hideki Okajima and Rainel Rosario: They are retired in the game, so I have to use commissioner mode to unretire them. |

I'm sure you guys heard already but i haven't seen it posted yet.
Yordano Ventura and Cory Kluber signed extentions. I don't have the details, so incase you don't know I guess cots would have them. |

Tangentially related...
I don't see anything on the Giants website yet, but they just announced during the game that Brian Sabean is no longer the Giants GM. They've promoted his assistant, Bobby Evans. |

What we did with other GM types that moved upstairs and still run the team (Epstein, Friedman) is just to leave them as GM, since there's no President type role in the game. Then we usually set the titular GM to scouting director in game.

Will Porcello's extension make it into the new roster update?

its funny how Porcello gets $20 mil for mediocre ball. He is NOT that good or worthy of $20 mill ball. Wondering if the owner of the Boston Red Sox had plenty of success with him on his OOTP game???
Guess that means back ups will now command $10 mil plus |

They're predicting his future. He is only 26, and if he did replicate his '14 he would easily get 100+ for 6 + years. His FIP suggests that while in Detroit his ERA was worse than it should have been due to poor defense. A good third and first baseman (could argue two b/c Craig), an above average third baseman and arguably the best defensive second baseman is an upgrade. Plus an outfield that could see Nava, Bradley, Victorino, Castillo and Betts cycling through. The new reality is that pitching is expensive. Masterson got 10 million with a 6 ERA in '14, and he took LESS to be with the Red Sox, than what the Rangers offered.

Unless your GM is a fool (cough, Amaro), nobody in sports gets paid for what they've done. You get paid for what they think you will do.
Wouldn't be at all surprised if Porcello ages 26-30 is better than Sheilds ages 34-37. |

Yesterday at 11:59pm was presumably the cutoff for roster moves, as OOTP roster changes usually end at Opening Day.

This is what 3.5 WAR pitchers look like, last season, ten, twenty, and thirty years ago. 1 WAR costs $6 million last season, approximately. 3.5 WAR = $20 million a year.
