The more I think about this, I'm not liking it at all. Our outfield is already one of the worst in the league at the corners. Now one of those corners is going to be in center????

Trades are not done for 2014. I suspect that a CF will arrive in Detroit in August.

A great come from behind win in the 9th to beat the Jays last night. Back-to-back jacks by Castellanos and Suarez... hopefully that will get the Tigers back to their winning ways because KC is creeping up close.

Tigers should have traded Nathan for a ball boy at the deadline. You have THIS STUD ROTATION, and then you put a bag of peanuts on the mound in the ninth!?
I would well understand if Scherzer would take Nathan's ugly head right off after this cock-up.

![]() The Jays got two lucky bounces on the Reimold and Cabrera doubles. They usually bounce over the fence and the guy on 1B can't score.

Or if Hanrahan will ever throw a pitch in Detroit. This million dollar SP lineup is never going to work with a ten cent bullpen behind it and sketchy defense in CF.

Does anyone think this team can win a playoff series?

Isn't it about time for Dombrowski to do something to get his name in the news? It's all about the headlines baby!

Sadly, no. Trading a very good CF and a decent SP for a great SP was not what this team needed and likely made it worse in total. This bullpen is a continual horror show.

Kudos to the pen for holding down the fort this long. Of course, they had already surrendered it earlier.
Nathan in for the 16th - could be the end.

They will as long as they don't have to rely on the bullpen. Which means the bats need to motor on all cylinders come playoff time. But with playoffs comes colder weather, advantage pitchers. This has been a frustrating team to watch the past 8 years. On paper this years team should blow everybody away. But then they play and on certain days look like they couldn't beat a AA team. We shall see come October what they are really made of.

Wow, I saw they were up 5-0 and then got wrapped up in watching The Killing. Can't believe the game is now in the 17th. They haven't scored since the 3rd inning? Insane.

On a side note, I may put some cash on Seattle to beat the Jays tomorrow after this marathon game and a flight out west, how much will the Jays have left for that game.

This is awesome fun. I just got home from Mass and saw in the 18th.
What's the longest game you guys ever went to in person? I went to KC / Texas game here in KC that was 18 innings (I think). I remember Brent Mayne caught every inning. |

Congrats on the win. I was watching the second game of the Tigers/Yankees series earlier in the week on the YES network and Paul O'Neil commented on how the Tigers had a comfortable lead in the Central and that the Yankees were fighting for their playoff lives. Well O'Neil doesn't follow the Tigers obviously because now the lead is half a game over KC. At least the games won't be boring from here on out. Putrid offence for the Tigers after the 4th inning today. They made Yankees starters look good and today Jenkins mowed them down way to easily.

I'm not sure but I think that the day after a 19 inning game is one of the times that you need a starter to make it to the second inning.
