1919 Regular Season Game 31

Grimes Triumphant Return is just in time!

With fans on the down and out with the announcment that Ruth would miss a Month, then this morning they got news that Bullet Joe Bush was to miss 3 Months, there was no Joy in Mudville. Enter Burleigh Grimes fresh off the Disabled List to lift the spirits and the wins total. Grimes pitched 8 solid innings but it took a 9th inning rally with 2 runs scored with 2 outs to get Grimes the win.

I love the premise behind this. Can't believe someone didn't think of this sooner. Good luck!

Thanks, My intention was to come up with an original Idea and I've always been infatuated with Ruth, and perplexed by his Lack of Pitching when he left Boston...It seemed to work out ok for him however

Off Day report

Boston Trades the farm for Johnson

In what will be considered by many to be a very risky move the Boston Red Sox have acquired Ernie R Johnson from the St Louis Browns. Boston has favored the multi-position player for quite a while, even making an offer for him last year during Spring Training and when Johnson was Injured with a fractured Rib, Boston never pulled the trigger on the deal. Johnson playes 2B/SS and 3B equally well and brings a much needed Left Handed Hitting Middle infielder to the Sox who can Hit and play solid Defense.

Gone are Defensive Star SS Everette Scott, MR Sweet Bread Bailey (He was Pitching more like Sourdough for us) and reserve RF Frank Gleich. Boston also recieves MR Tom Rodgers in the deal

Paging Dr Grimes to the Mound

Burleigh Grimes has whats ailing the Red Sox, quality Pitching. Ernie Johnson the amazing rotating player is 5-14 as a red sox with 2 doubles and 3 runs, we expect Ernie to be in the lineup on most days at either 2B/3B/SS and to hit at the top of the order...Johnson brings flat out speed to the Sox and has the green light every time he on base.

No doubt thank god I have more depth this year...We'll be fine if Grimes and Hoyt keep pitching like they have... I think Johnson was a HUGE addition, I kept looking for another 3B who played D well and wouldn't kill me with the bat and no matter how I filtered he kept showing up at or near the top so I said **** it and gave them 3 young guys
