Glasco is beginning to hit their stride - they completed a sweep of the Ranford Bulls.

Next up for Glasco is 1-8 Ancona, at the Jumbos' ballpark. Last edited by jg2977; 03-10-2022 at 08:02 AM. |

Okay, if Glasco does eventually get knocked out of playoff contention this year, during the regular season, I'd like Gordon to pitch at least for a bit in various games until the end of the regular season, with Arthyr catching for him when possible, and especially in the last game of the regular season. If they make the postseason, however, I would like to see Gordon pitching in at least one game per series, with Arthyr catching, even if it's in a wild card game, for at least as long as Glasco can still play games in 1978.
At the end of this season, and after the awards have been distributed to the appropriate people, we will have to decide what to do with GC and AG. I'm thinking that if Glasco goes all the way, and ends up on top, that will probably be the best time for both GC and AG to retire, and retire together, even if AG will be leaving one contract year's money on the table and all for 1979. If either gets hurt before the end of the 1978 season, and is lost for the rest of the season, if not potentially for a career, then we'll both just have to consider how much recovery time will still be present, before we decide on what to do with them for 1979. If less than six months are left for them to recover once the season is over, then let's think about whether to bring them back or not for 1979. If more than six months are left for their injury recovery time, at that point, then let's let their careers end, or retire them, I think. I would like to see GC hit those pitching statistics levels I mentioned earlier in the thread, but he's just about done here, and even I can see that clearly. I hope his son and AG's sons can succeed them well as time goes on, once both he and AG are done as players, of course. It ought to be rather interesting to see how Bookworm and Buster Freeman do in the future, especially with their main rivals coming into your IPA over the next several years, I expect. Talk more later, as time permits and all, I'm sure, of course. Thank you for your time and attention and all here, then, as well, for sure. Think you could start posting the standings at the start of every month, so that I can get the locations of the teams recorded and all here? And start figuring out where to put each IPA location on the needed map or maps that I'll be working on periodically prior to the eventual realigning of your IPA setup here, please? It would be most helpful, I think, if you did so here. Also, what specific IPA teams are you currently using items for that I made? Just curious, that's all. I'm not saying that would necessarily affect just where I put teams on the above map or maps, mind you, but I'd still really like to know, in any case, if I can, please. That's all for now here, then, I think, jg2977. CD out.

I'm using your uniforms for Kenwood, Sugar Valley, South Fork. Those are the latest three that I've just added. I also added one of each rival of the Freemans to those teams. I still have yet to see Gordon Clyde pitch. I raised his pitching ratings, but the AI doesn't want to use him, so I may have to put him into some games manually. Just for your information, and perhaps EC's as well, at least, jg2977, there are now four brand-new items that I just made for possible use by the Arlon Champions. Hope you take a look at them and like them, of course, but if you don't choose to use them and all, that's just fine with me, for sure. That is all. CD out.

Let me know when you want the remaining profiles for the Freemans and the rivals to be sent your way, whenever the proper time arrives for each, and I'll get them to you as soon as I can. Also, if you could let me know more about the various teams' histories with each other, periodically, that might help with things related to the upcoming realignment plans and all, of course. I'm not saying you should do it all at once, of course, but just every so often, at least, you see. Thank you for your time and all here, then, jg2977. CD out.

I'm actually debating whether to do a major realignment. If I have 8 divisions in each league, and only division winners make the playoffs, there's the possibility, almost guaranteed, that some very good teams will miss the playoffs while a lesser team will make it. With a balanced schedule, there's no point in having divisions. Maybe I should eliminate the divisions, and just have the Ruthlandia and Tycobbia Unions. The top 8 teams in each Union would make the playoffs, and then I'd be guaranteed of having the best teams in baseball fight it out for the championship. I guess I'll have that anyway by having the 4 division winners + 4 wild cards though.
Perhaps the one thing I'll do is have the Red Sox switch leagues, then they'll be in the same league as the Yankees. I'll keep you posted. I just want to enjoy the 1978 season first. Last edited by jg2977; 03-10-2022 at 11:56 AM. |

We've still got time before 1980 ends to figure this out. Perhaps you may want to go with unbalanced schedules by then, which should perhaps make things much more exciting to see if certain teams don't see each other so often as others do. I think it was much more exciting prior to the three-division setup in each league being enacted when teams in one division played each other more often than those in the opposite division of the league, at least for the National League.
When there were twelve teams in the NL, you had each team playing 90 games in-division, and 72 out of the division, with the 162-game seasonal setup. Perhaps something like that would be good here, depending on how much you want to emphasize in-division play going forwards in your IPA. As I said, we still have time to figure out all these things before the 80th Anniversary season in 1981. So let's just try to work all the necessary things here out logically and all here, in the meantime, so that when that time comes, we can hopefully then have everything set up as we like it as best as possible and all. No matter what happens with potential divisional and subleague-related configurations and all, jg2977. Thank you for your time and all here, as always, then, of course. CD out.

There are now some Cape Coral Spires-related items now done and posted in my main graphics thread, for your information, jg2977. You may not ever want to rename your Cape Coral Hurricanes, of course. But if you ever decide to change their team nickname, maybe you might be interested in renaming them the Spires here, once they get suitably good logos to match the uniforms and caps I just made for them or might make later, I think. At least that's my hope, anyway, you know. CD out.

There are several new items up for Kenwood's Wildcats and Sugar Valley's Rattlers, per your earlier thoughts that you posted a bit ago in my main graphics thread here on the forums, just so you know, jg2977. That is all. CD out.

Four brand-new Sugar Valley Rattlers-related items without the purple color being used, by your request, are now in my main graphics thread, jg2977, just so you know this here well enough and all. That is all. CD out.

Just added four potential items for a prospective LaGrange Sportsmen team to my thread. In EC's IPA, LaGrange's team used to be called the Sports. I don't know if you'll ever want to use that name for LaGrange in your league, or change from the Gators. But if you ever decide you might be up to doing so later on, perhaps you might then want to consider the Sportsmen name as a possible name you could use if you do eventually change the team name here from the Gators, I think, jg2977. Hope you like the new Rattlers items as well. CD out.
