Bromley continue to go from strength to strength. Today we were away to Lowestoft in the FA Cup, and although we left it late (injury time to be precise) there was only ever going to be one winner. They were a typical small club well up for a good home showing in the first half, but our new found professionalism saw us soak up the early storm and take the sting out the match before steadily turning the screw. Lowestoft will probably feel a bit aggrieved not to have earnt a replay but I never felt in any real danger of us losing once we saw off the initial storm. They continued to create a fair bit, but it was one of those games where you just always felt your team could crank up a couple of gears with ease if they really had to. Anyway now I’m hoping for a good draw on Monday now we are just two wins from the first round proper. We’ve got to the final qualifying round in each of the last two seasons, but haven’t made it to the first round proper since 96/97... hopefully third times the charm

Next up on Tuesday we have Corinthian Casuals in the first round of the London Cup (one of the joys of being on the London/Kent borders is we get to play in both cups). I’m hoping we take these two cups seriously this season. As a rule we normally do, but with eyes on promotion to the Conference South I’m rather expecting Goldberg to sprinkle the side with reserves.

What is the sport like now? I have to be honest and say I've generally found it pretty unwatchable down the years, and this is from someone who can happily watch park football. We had the Charlton lasses using our stadium as their home ground a couple of seasons ago so I gave it another chance but it still was the most turgid football I'd seen outside the school yard. Have I just been catching the game at its worst?

How many Bromley fans go to away games ? Redditch brought around hmm say 40 to Leigh the other week and Alfreton brought say 20.

The England game wasn't too bad not the greatest of football, atmosphere was ok, I'd describe it as a schoolboy international atmosphere like they used to have at Wembley.

Don't know if anyone watches La Liga football, but tomorrow afternoon it is the Madrid derby, with Real hosting Atletico. Should be a good one.

Of course I think that. But it's not up to me is it? In reality it's what others think about it that will count.

It varies radically. We've got a hardcore of 30-40 odd that go to every game possible and something like 150 floaters who go to a reasonable portion of aways. I'd say over the course of a year we average around the 80 mark, but the figure spikes dramatically. The fortunes of Crystal Palace, Charlton and Millwall also impact on our numbers as we share their catchment area.

Our home gates typically hover around high 400s to low 500s.

When you cancel the double negative it means 'I can do everything right'.

Wonder if there is a day when football is played for 24 hours, the Japanese J-League kicked of at 7am uk time this morning, there's an MLS game that kicks off at 3:30am uk, so by the time that game finishes after 5am there will have been over 22 hours of continuous football played today.
