The Grand Rapids Crawdads traded for school teacher and sweathog Gabe Kotter today from the Anchorage Bears while sending RP Barry Cort to Anchorage. Kotter will report to AAA Gering, even though he is a light stick he drove in 101 runs with 1 homer in AAA ball in 2026 for Anchorage.

The NL East Leading Brooklyn Brawlers made a strange move by dealing centerfielder Roberto Kelly and RF Scott Hastings to the Santo Domingo Oceanics for RP Mashiro Tanaka and RP Ryan Rupe. Cozumel is in 3rd place in the NL Tropical division just 3 games behind the first place Tijuana Pelicans.

In a surprising move the Philadelphia Phillies dealt CF Bob Allison to their division rivals the Washington Nationals today along with outfielder Preston Tucker for the services of C Lew Brown. Allison had 37 homers this year and had 52 in 2026. Brown is a decent hitting catcher with 18 homers and a .264 average. 2027- Report #41

The Baltimore Orioles had enough of shyster Rudy Guilliani and shipped the minor league catcher to the lowly San Jose Skeeters today. The Orioles obtain CF Vic Power and CF Hub Northen from San Jose. Orioles GM Nick Stumpf said that for such a marginal power he was way too controversial.

Speaking of controversial, Lubbock Brigands pitcher Bill "Bubba" Clinton is quietly having a breakout year and today he blanked the Kansas City Royals on the road at Kauffman Stadium on just 2 hits. Clinton fanned 2 batters and lowered his ERA to 1.93 which suddenly leads the American League. Josh Anderson and Delwyn Young each had 3 hits and 2 RBI's to carry the Lubbock offense. Royals third baseman Mike Schmidt was quoted after the game saying "there is nothing honest about that inhaler on the mound, he had to have razor blades and sandpaper in his hat"

Bill Maher was not happy with his GM Victor Ortiz as the NL Tropical division leading Kingston Sea Lions traded for moocher and clubhouse cancer Alan Harper from the Newark Thieves today. Newark gets back OF Pat Kelly to complete the trade. Maher was cited as saying "We were doing so well and now Oritz has to f it all up by adding this guy, did you ever see this guy smoke a joint? Now I bet he tries to live in my poolhouse"

The Mobile Swordfish feel they still have a fighting chance and acquired NBA big man and Moline Oilers starting pitcher Joel Embiid. RF Jacob Cruz and catcher Orlando Mercado head to the Quad Cities. Embiid was 4-14 this year, but the 73-50 Mobile team feels even at 14 games out that they have shot to catch the Chicago Cubs in the NL Central.

It was a huge trade deadline blockbuster but the Brooklyn Brawlers acquired front end starter Bob Emslie and RP Dave Hoskins from the Los Angeles Angels and they part with power hitting outfielder Paul Hines as well as RF Mortimer Hogan and SS Mark Wagner. Emslie was 13-8 this year for Los Angeles and has a 58-26 career mark, which helps Brooklyn immensely has they protect a 2 game lead over the New York Mets in the NL East. Hines has 205 career homes with a .278 average but Brooklyn felt they had enough offense without him.

The Fresno Bashers got real bad injury news as they found out they have lost RP Peter Moylan for the season with a torn labrum. Moylan was 7-1 with a 2.19 ERA for the AL Pacific leading team.

Sweetbread Bailey was traded to the West Palm Beach Dinos today with SS Gary Green by the Bermuda Seawolves in a trade for 3B Walter Barbare and RP Jon Huber.

The Atlantic City Shark made a trade for outfielder Brandon Moss from the St Louis Cardinals. The Redbirds get back RP Bob Gilks. Ryan Spillborghs head to Atlantic City in this trade too.

Well traveled pitcher Ed Karger was sent to the West Palm Beach Dinos today along with Tony Kubek from the Starbucks Lattes with the corporate team getting back RF Bobby Tolan. Karger was 5-12 this year for Starbucks.

The Charleston Cheetahs made a trade for controversial Jim Leyritz today from the Dayton Mud Hens. Dayton gets back in return LF Alex Dickerson. Also heading to Charleston will be RP Jesse Crain.

Veteran outfielder Lorenzo Cain has been shipped to the Nassau Stingrays by the Cape Cod Manatees. Cape Cod receives a decent futures package of CF Mookie Wilson, LF Brock Davis and RF Earl Caldwell. The 37 year old Cain had 8 homers and 37 RBI's this year for Cape Cod.

Dolph Camilli of the Grand Rapids Crawdads had a monster 4 homer game today as Grand Rapids destroyed the Barbados Arsenal 14-1 at home. Camilli drives in 7 runs in the game and now had 36 homers and 100 RBI's on the season. Birdie Cree had 3 hits and 2 RBI's as well for Grand Rapids.

The Havana Marksmen have reported they have lost RP Jeff Karstens for the season with radial nerve compression.

In a curious trade the Atlanta Braves who are 18 games out in the NL Atlantic traded for Kansas City Royals superstar Alex Johnson and future star pitcher Mark Langston with the Royals getting back SP Jack Jones. Johnson has 33 homers and 83 RBI's this year with a .320 average and is a .324 lifetime hitter. The Royals are ten games out in the AL Midwest and land Jones who is 8-4 with a 2.38 ERA. Jones won 20 games in 2024 and has a 68-32 record.

The NL Central leading Chicago Cubs added depth today with a trade with the Rochester Surge. Chicago lands infielder Jerry Adair giving up OF Timo Perez and RP Manny Sarmiento. Adair had 13 homer and 51 RBI's this year for Rochester.

The Raleigh Spitfires are in three way tie for 4th place in the very crowded AL Atlantic and added SP Ray Phelps today in a trade with the Starbucks Lattes. Starbucks gets back C Bruno Block, C Aramis Garcia and RP Al Blanche. Phelps was a 14 game winner in 2026 for Kingston but was 6-11 this year for lowly Starbucks.

Power hitting Josh Bell will just move continents as he was traded by the Rome Thoroughbreds to the Rio Astronauts today. Going to Rio as well will be 2B Luis Rivas and CF Jarvis Tatum. Power hitting Dave Hostetler now goes to Rome.

The Winnipeg Wolf Pack acquired 3B Hardy Richardson from the San Antonio River Kings. San Antonio gets back SP John Fulgham. RF Hunter Dozier also goes to Winnipeg. Fulgham was 14-3 this year for Winnipeg so he is a big piece to trade away

Chuck James was dealt to the West Palm Beach Dinos today by the Amagansett Assassins. Amagansett gets back RP Jack Cronin and CF Tommy Smith.

The NL Tropical leading Tijuana Pelicans added depth by getting Pepe Mangual in a trade with the Corpus Christi Blue Hens. Heading to Corpus Christi are CF Jose Zardon and RF Tom Poquette. Mangual won a world series with the 2020 Seattle Mariners and had 11 homers this year for Corpus Christi.

The Maui Lobos traded RP Charlie Gorin and 1B Jake Goodman to the Los Angeles Dodgers for CF Gene Kingsale, LF Jack McGeachy and 1B Alcides Escobar

RP Gene Snyder is heading to the Melbourne Caribou from the Toledo Shockers in a trade for RP Ed Roebuck and RP Josh Spence. Harrison Bader is also heading down under. Snyder was 0-5 this year after a few good years with the Boston Red Sox. Melbourne is in 2nd place in the NL World division trailing the first place Paris Swingers by 4 games.

The Cincinnati Reds blanked the Binghamton Swallows at home today by the score of 6-0 as Jose Fernandez was in the groove with 15 strikeouts over 7 1/3 innings. Fernandez allowed just 2 hits and walked no one. Travis Fryman hit a grand slam for the Reds to contribute to the offense.

Daisy Davis was on fire with a 1 hit shutout for the Tucson Tomahawks on the road at Biden Field against the Delaware Big Train. Davis fans 9 batter and improves to 15-3 on the season and only walked one batter. Bob Johnson accounted for the lone Delaware hit. Orlando Cepeda had 2 hits and 2 RBI's for Tucson

Claudell Washington had a huge 6 hit game but the Grand Junction Gold Rush still got outscored 20-11 on the road at the Carrier Dome against the Syracuse Maroons. Washington went 6 for 6 and hit his 23rd homer but it was not good enough. Legendary Roger Maris hit a grand slam and drove in 5 runs for Syracuse.

The Des Moines Jaguars obliterated the lowly Baton Rouge Warbirds 27-0 at home today as Al Spalding fires the 1 hit shutout. Spalding fanned 11 and did not walk a batter as the AL Midwest leading Des Moines team continues to roll. The only Baton Rouge hit was a 3rd inning triple by Buddy Biancalana. Gary Sanchez was the offensive star for Des Moines with 3 homers and 9 RBI's.

The Chicago White Sox are irate as they lost recently acquired SP Josh Beckett for the season with a bone spur in his elbow. Chicago is claiming that the Utah Saints traded him knowing he was damaged goods. Beckett made 4 stars for the White Sox and had a 1.85 ERA.

Kevin Nicholson has been traded to the Paris Swingers from the Ottawa Argonauts for RP Rudy Hernandez and CF Byron Buxton. The NL World leading Paris team makes an odd move as Nicholson is a light bat and they give up a bullpen workhorse and a power hitting rookie.

The St Louis Cardinals have traded for RP Bruce Rondon today from the Myrtle Beach Rage. Myrtle Beach gets back C Johnny Walker, 2B Polly McLarry and LHP Elvis Araujo

The Tijuana Pelicans keep adding by landing outfielder Bill O'Hara in a trade with the Foxwoods Colonials for RP Mark Gubicza. O'Hara had 12 homers and 49 RBI's for Foxwoods

After many years with the Pittsburgh Pirates, Benito Santiago has been shipped to the Little Rock Sunbirds. The Bucs get back SP Don Robinson RP Joe Yeager. Pirates are just 3 games back of the Chicago Cubs in the NL Central and give up a .300 hitting catcher for a swing pitcher (who was a Pirate in real life)

The Houston Astros are 7 games out in the AL West and traded for catcher Joe Pignatano today from the Delaware Big Train. Delaware gets a package of LF Max West, CF Billy Cowan and LHP Snipe Hansen.

Charlie Geggus, power pitcher of the Evansville Steelhawks is done for the season with forearm inflammation.

Jose Abreu is now heading to the Mobile Swordfish from the Tel Aviv Thunderbolts. Tel Aviv gets back in the trade, OF Ollie Pickering. CF Jay Porter also goes to Mobile in this trade. Abreu had 26 hits and 75 RBI's this year in Israel.

RP David West is heading to the Rome Thoroughbreds via trade with the Lincoln Music. Lincoln gets back RP Bill Rotes.

The San Diego Padres have traded for pitcher Cliff Politte and 3B Gene Leek from the Providence Chargers. Providence gets in return C Dan Graham.

The AL World leading Tokyo Alligators landed catcher Tim Blackwell in a trade today with the Panama Buccaneers. Panama gets back in the trade, LHP Sheldon Burnside and 2B Bob Repass. Also heading to Tokyo will be RP Joe Neale. Blackwell was hitting .266 for Panama this year.

The Ottawa Argonauts added a good bat in outfielder Floyd Robinson from the Austin Donkeys. Austin has picked up in the deal RP Luis Aponte and LHP Lefty Willis. Robinson was hitting .289 for Austin.

John Means was dealt to the Jones Beach Jets today by the Havana Marksmen with Havana acquiring SP Preacher Roe, RHP George Hodson and CF Jordan Schafer. Means was 5-6 this year in Cuba, and won 15 games in 2025 for the Syracuse Maroons.

The San Juan Storm acquired RP Matt Hall from the Toledo Shockers along with RP Tim McCabe with Toledo getting back 2B Gil English and RP Wes Stock.

2027 - No Hitter #11

The 11th no hitter of the 2027 season has been tossed by David Palmer of the Billings Beacons as they triumphed over the Hartford Rocketmen on the road at Aetna Stadium. Palmer fanned 14 batters in the game and walked 3 to get the big no hitter. (Much like real life Palmer is not a great pitcher at 3-9 this year, but he threw a no hitter in the 1980's for the Expos).

Ken Landreaux had 2 hits and an RBI to carry the offense for Billings Harry Steinfeldt (not an accountant) walked twice for Hartford and said this "I kept telling my teammates to lay off the junk pitches and they kept swinging and missing, every dog has their day.

Billing is not a great winning franchise but this is their 2nd no hitter of all time as Al Pratt tossed one in 2026 against the Aruba Jackrabbits. It was the 2nd time Hartford fell victim to a no hitter as Frank Smith fired one against them for the Atlanta Braves back in 2021.

2027 - Report #42

Now that the trading deadline has passed the news is a bit quieter

American League Player of the Week goes to Dublin Outlaws rookie outfielder George Gore. Gore goes 12 for 17 while hitting 3 homers and driving in 11 runs. He has hit 33 homers and has driven in 95 runs this year for Dublin who are tied for 2nd in the AL World Division and 6 games behind the first place Tokyo Alligators

Dude Esterbrook of the Jones Beach Jets wins the NL Player of the Week award as he slugs 8 homers and drives in 12 runs while going 15 for 26 in a monstrous week. Esterbrook has torn the cover off the ball for Jones Beach with 46 homers, 119 RBI's and a .332 average. Jones Beach has hung in the NL East race in 5th place 9 games behind both the Brooklyn Brawlers and New York Mets. Esterbrook is an odd case study as he just hit 13 homers for the mighty Memphis Cougars in his first 4 years and has 147 homers in 4 seasons off Ocean Parkway.

Newly acquired Bill O'Hara of the Tijuana Pelicans is now out for the season with a broken kneecap. He had 13 homers for Tijuana and his former team the Guadalajara Bighorns. Tijuana is clinging to a 2 game lead in the NL Tropical Division over the Key West Condors. The injury occurred in a 10-5 road loss to the St Louis Cardinals at Busch Stadium at a collision at 2nd base with Cardinals SS Carlos Guillen.

Miami Marlins slugging first baseman Hal Trosky hit his 400th career homer today as the Marlins torched the Tahiti River Sharks 10-2 on the road at Moorea Stadium. Trosky hit his 38th homer of the season off of Joe Edelen in the 9th inning to make it 400 for his career all with the Marlins. Joc Pederson hit 2 homers and drove in 4 runs for Miami in the win.

Frankie Frisch had a huge 5 hit game today for the Redding Missions as they destroyed the Santa Fe Impact 11-1 on the road at Aggie Park. Frisch goes 5 for 6 and drives in 3 runs and is hitting .269 in his rookie season. Dick Newsome pitched 5 strong innings to get the win for Redding.

The San Jose Skeeters have been a mess all year as they watch first year teams outperform them. Ty Cobb went to Pied Piper the ownership company of San Jose and demanded the heads of the GM and Manager after the trade for the controversial Rudy Guiliani. Ownership decided to fire the GM Nate Proctor and Manager Roman Faulkner. Given the odd situation there, no one wanted the job so they found two guys in the mail room and made them GM and Manager. Jose Tena from Jackson, MI was pulled out of the tech department to be the new general manager and their manager becomes Gregg Clark who is a Centennial, Colorado man who really just works in the mail room.

2027 - Report #43

We have hit the 129 game mark in the 2027 season and the league has added ambitious expansion for 2028 moving to 240 teams.

Cy Young of the Baltimore Orioles fans 15 batters today as Baltimore ripped apart the St Thomas Snappers at home 19-1. Young improves to 16-4 as he vies for the award named after him. He fanned the 16 over 6 1/3 innings allowing just 1 run and 3 hits with no walks. Bill Salkeld had 3 hits and 4 RBI's for Baltimore's offensive attack. O's are 89-40 and are tied for first with the Richmond Gamecocks atop the AL Atlantic.

The Anchorage Bears got bad news as they have lost starting pitcher Mario Soto for the season with a damaged elbow ligament. Soto was 12-6 this year for Anchorage who are 87-42 and just games back in 2nd place of the Fresno Bashers in the AL Pacific. The injury occurred in a tough 6-5 road loss to the Flin Flon Nightowls at Bobby Clarke Stadium.

Dick Davis of the lowly Barbados Arsenal hit for the cycle today but Barbados lost on the road to the Boca Raton Gold Sox 7-5 at Seta Stadium. Davis went 4 for 4 in the game and was a big day for the 25 year old career minor leaguer. Tight End Sterling Sharpe had 2 hits and 2 RBI's for Boca Raton in the win.

The Portland Lions defeated the Moline Oilers today 10-2 on the road at Quad City Stadium as Superstore employee Jonah Simms slugged 3 homers in the game. Simms drives in 6 runs in the game as one of the shot was a grand slam homer. Fred Smith improved to 12-6 on the season with 6 solid innings of work for Portland

D'Andre Brown of the Santa Fe Impact hit his 300th career homer today but Santa Fe was downed on the road 6-4 by the Vancouver Men-O-War at Pacific Stadium. Brown's 2nd homer in the game in the 9th inning off of Ken Howell was his 300th career shot. Jim Ray Hart had 2 hits and 2 RBI's for Vancouver in the victory. Brown hit 60 homers in 2020 for the Boston Red Sox and has hit 25 for Santa Fe this year.

2027 - No Hitter #12

Today was the 12th no hitter of the 2027 season, which was a perfect game tossed by Bill Stafford of the Monte Carlo Blazers over the Moline Oilers. Stafford fanned 15 batters in this game and improved to 8-10 on the year. The hard part of this game is that this was a 0-0 tied into the bottom of the ninth and Monte Carlo had to win this home game in walk off fashion as Reymond Fuentes plated home Gino Cimolli in the 9th.

This was the first no hitter in Monte Carlo Blazers history and the first time the Moline Oilers have been held hitless.

Jack Sanford of the Rome Thoroughbreds fires a 1 hit shutout today over the Montreal Anchors 4-0. Rome wins the game in walk off fashion with a grand slam homer by Xander Bogaerts off of Montreal reliever Ted Blankenship who came on in relief for vigilante Blue Spark. All the runs were unearned as Dan Brouthers commited an error earlier in the game as the Italian faithful go home happy. Sanford fanned 7 and walked 1 and allowed just a hit to 39 year old veteran Stan Javier. Sanford is now 10-11 on the year with a 2.70 ERA.

Kansas City Royals slugger Fred Luderus hit his 300th career homer today as the Royals terrorized the Fargo Horsemen at home 22-2. Luderus hit 2 homers to give him 51 on the season. As this game was a blowout, Luderus 2nd homer of the game came off of Fargo outfielder Gene Richards. Oyster Burns hit his 28th homer and drove in 2 runs for Kingston in the win. Kingston is in 2nd place in the AL Tropical trailing the red hot Caracas Toros by 5 games as Caracas has won 18 straight. The Seattle Mariners probably won't repeat as champions but they beat the AL West leading Utah Saints today 11-8 at Pat Kelly slugged 3 homers in the game to give him 21 on the year.

Down to the last 18 games, with 12 games left we will start to focus on the pennant races

Saskatoon lost the game at home 8-7 to the Tucson Tomahawks but Laureano hit his 33rd homer of the year in the first inning off of Watty Lee to hit the milestone marker. Laureano hit 45 homers in 2025 for Saskatoon and hit 179 homers with the New Orleans Zebras before coming to Saskatoon. Jason Heyward hit a 3 run double in the top of the 9th to break the tie in this game and give Tucson the win.

Kiner hit a 2 run shot in the first inning off of Zane Smith of Austin. Hanley Ramirez lead the way with 3 hits and 3 RBI's in the victory. Kiner has hit all 300 homers as a member of the Pirates (editor's note: he was organically drafted at random by Pittsburgh)
