2016 Players by Country
The 2016 season is set to get under way! An offseason recap and 2016 USABL Preview will be up tonight, but with the IFA season having come and gone, here is an update on how countries are trending from 2014-2016 in terms of registered IBF players:
![]() A few notes: - The impact of the struggles of the United States in international play is starting to take shape. While the USABL is thriving as a league, many of the best players are now coming from other countries. The United States is going to have to figure out a way to garner more interest at home to make up for this and stay atop the world in terms of having the best league. - Mexico and Canada have seen huge gains as part of their successes in international play. As we know, the Mexican League is expanding quickly and are being rewarded with their risks with an increased amount of players joining the IBF. - As of 2016, 15 countries in 5 continents have 20+ registered players - the sign of growth! - Outside of teams with international teams, the biggest growth markets this year were Cuba, Costa Rica, China, and England. - Italy and Brazil registered 6 and 5 players respectively, in their initial year as a registered baseball nation. More to come tonight! |

He also represented the club in the initial 2007 IBF Gold Cup, a competition in which he won with the United States. Duncan is the first inductee into the Philadelphia Franchise Hall of Fame, and he is the first player to ever be inducted in any IBF Hall of Fame. The now 44 year old will be celebrated on field with his former club in a game against his other former team, New York, on August 19. Week 6 is coming up next |
