Round 1: Jones Jr displacys some fancy footwork. Fighters exchange punches entire round. Too close to call

Round 2: Lopez stuns Jones Jr with a smashing hook. Jones is only throwing his jab. Jones Jr is shaken up by a bunch of body blows. Lopez follows with an uppercut to the jaw that puts Jones Jr on wobbly legs. Lopez goes in for the kill and lands another thudding shot to Jones Jr's ribcage. Jones Jr crumbles to his knees and the referee begins his count. Jones Jr cannot beat the count and the referee calls an end to the bout at 2:57 of the 2nd Round

Round 1: Both fighters paw with their jabs. Nothing significant happens. Multiple clinches. Even round

Round 2: Chagaev and Langford are mauling each other on the inside. Chagaev ducks into a Langford uppercut. Chagaev reels backwards from a head butt and major swelling starts under his left eye. Langford follows up with a beautiful cross to Chagaev's chin. Chagaev drops to the
canvas. Chagaev back up after 4-count but is clearly unsteady. Langford pounds Chagaev, landing 59 punches in the round, but Chagaev survives to the bell.

Round 3: Chagaev holds his gloves high, leaving his midsection open. Chagaev starts holding. By the second have of the round, Chagaev seems to have recovered from the knockdown and actually outlands Langford 24-17 in the round

Round 4: Chagaev's corner has done little to reduce the swelling under his left eye. Chagaev is protecting his left eye as the swelling increases. Referee warns Langford to keep his punches up. Langford lets his punches go. After a hard cross, referee jumps in and stops the fight saving Chagaev from further punishment. Up to that point, Langford had landed 63 punches in the round. Time of stoppage - 2:51 of round

3rd Meeting (Balzsay leads series 1-0-1)

Round 1: Anthony bulls Balzsay into a corner, followed by a clinch broken up by the referee. Balzsay starts working the body. Anthony is hurt and favoring his ribs. Close round with Balzsay a bit more active

Round 2: In the ring center, Balzsay does a good job sidestepping Anthony's punches. Anthony pins Balzsay in a corner and lands a crushing uppercut. Balzsay volleys back with a good combination. Anthony is in constant motion. Even round

Round 3: Action picks up. Fighters exchange punches. Anthony comes up short with a hook and is then hit by a cross that he didn't see coming. Balzsay lands a hard hook and Anthony drops to the canvas. Anthony regains his feet at 8-count and definitely looks dazed. Anthony is dropped again near the end of the round but gets up quickly after only 1.

Round 4: Anthony seems fully recovered from the knockdowns and opens up on the attack. A stinging jab by Anthony results in swelling under Balzsay's left eye. Anthony dominates round, outlanding Balzsay 48-18.

Round 5: Swelling under Balzsay's left eye is getting worse. Anthony pins Balzsay in a corner and lands a hook to the side of his head opening a cut on the outside of Balzsay's right eyebrow. Good round for Anthony

Round 6: Balzsay starts round by landing a vicious combination sending Anthony down again. Anthony staggers up as referee's count gets to 9. Anthony backpedals until the bell. Swelling under Balzsay's left eye is getting worse

Round 7: Action slows a bit. Mulitple clinches. Balzsay's eye is almost swollen shut. Round too close to call

Round 8: Anthony focuses on body attack. Balzsay lands a hard combination to Anthony's head, knocking him down for the 4th time in the fight. Anthony struggles back up at 3. Anthony looks like he needs a second wind. Balzsay throws punches wildly. Anthony looks a a little puffy under his left eye. Anthong looks to be out on his feet. Bell sounds, saving Anthony

Round 9: Anthony has recovered well, again and is darting in and out. Cut outside of Balzsay's right eye is reopened and bleeding. Referee stops action and brings Balzsay over to see the doctor. The doctor starts shaking his head ... and then allows the fight to continue. More swelling around Balzsay's left eye. Round ends and Balzsay's eyes are a bit glazed over from the punishment.

Round 10: Balzsay does not look good. Anthony is vert aggressive. Swelling around Balzsay's left eye can't get much worse. Balzsay is clearly hurt. Anthony lands a wild overhand right and Balzsay drops to one knee for a breather. Balzsay up after 3 but his legs are unsteady. Cut over Balzsay's right eye is reopened again and he starts pawing away the blood. Referee stops action and consults the doctor. Doctor gives his ok for the fight to continue. Anthony picks up the pace, but runs out of time to finish Balzsay off this round

Round 11: Balzsay is flatfooted. A three punch combination has increased the swelling under Anthony's left eye. Balzsay seems more clear-headed this round. Anthony ramps up his offense and traps Balzsay on the ropes. Swelling around Balzsay's left eye must be affecting his vision. Referee is getting very concerned about the swelling and stops the fight again for the doctor's opinion. Doctor is letting this go on.

Round 12: Balzsay seems to be re-energized for the 12th round. Fighter trade punches. Balzsay's shots are more damaging. Anthony appears a bit stunned and Balzsay wants to finish him. A solid cross drops Anthony onto his back. Anthony is back up at 4 but who knows if he is really ok. Balzsay unleashes a two fisted barrage and Anthony is driven backwards and he's knocked through the ropes and completely out of the ring! Anthony manages to climb back into the ring and is back up at 8. His eyes look vacant. Balzsay pounces and continues to attack. Referee jumps in and waves an end to the fight at 2:49 of the round.

4th Meeting (Nunn leads series 2-1)

Round 1: Nunn is using a lot of lateral movement, punch and move, punch and move. LaBlanche is the aggressor and outlands Nunn 24 -6

Round 2: Fighters are measuring each other. A few clinches. Nothing substantial lands, but LaBlanche is busier

Round 3: Nunn lands a couple solid body shots. LaBlanche clinches until the referee breaks them up. Referee issues a warning to LaBlanche for a low blow. Another good round for LaBlanche, outlanding Nunn by almost a 4:1 margin

Round 4: Getting off his stool, Nunn looks disgusted. Nunn traps LaBlanche in his corner and concentrates on a body attack. LaBlanche does very little. Best round of the fight so far for Nunn

Round 5: Nunn presses the attack. LaBlanche throws a combination but nothing lands. Nunn lands a quick left hook to the body. LaBlanche is unsteady on his feet.

Round 6: Nunn works his jab. Nunn grabs LaBlanche's head and pulls it down until referee pulls them apart. LaBlanche covers his body well. Close round.

Round 7: Multiple clinches. Referee warns Nunn for leaning on LaBlanche's neck. LaBlanche lands a huge uppercut, stunning Nunn. MOre wrestling on the inside. Referee warns LaBlanche for hitting on the break. LaBlanche outlands Nunn 24-12

Round 8: Dull round. Fighters circle each other. Nunn showcases some fancy footwork.

Round 9: Neither fighter is marked up yet. LaBlanche is staggered by a sweet uppercut. Another uppercut landed by Nunn. LaBlanche's knee almost touches the canvas. LaBlanche clinches

Rount 10: Nunn takes round off. LaBlanche backs up Nunn for most of the round. Good work by LaBlanche

Round 11: Nunn repeatedly clinches. Nunn has little sting on his punches. LaBlanche scores to Nunn's jaw. LaBlanche was very focused this round

Round 12: Referee motions LaBlanche to keep his punches up, then stops action to take a point away from him. Nunn picks up the pace hoping the foul will give him a 2-point round. Nunn lands heavy combination near the bell. Good round for Nunn

Round 13: Dull round. Nunn dances around bouncing on his toes. More clinches. Nothing happens

Round 14: Nunn is moving nicely. LaBlanche walks into a wicked combination and goes down. LaBlanche struggles to his knees but referee reaches 10-count at 0:40 of round

Round 1: Referee warns Ayala Jr for rabbit punching. Towne concentrates on a strong body attack. Ayala Jr clinches. Towne dominates round and looks a bit winded from throwing so many punches.

Round 2: Towne continues body work, Ayala Jr seems unfazed. Ayala lands a vicious cross that hurts Towne. A body shot leaves Towne clutching at his side. Ayala Jr lands a hook that knocks Towne to the canvas. Towne is back up at 3. Towne survives the round

Round 3: Towne works the jab. Referee tells Ayala Jr to watch leading with his head and then takes a point away from him. A cut opens on the inside of Towne's left eyebrow. Referee motions to the judges that the cut was caused by an intentional butt. Towne recovered well from last round's knockdown, but now has to deal with the cut.

Round 4: Towne's corner does a good job closing the cut between rounds. Towne retreats after being hurt by an uppercut. Towne is very active, outlanding Ayala jr 33-16

Round 5: An Ayala Jr punch reopens cut on Towne's left eye and has started bleeding. Ayala moves forward and does a lousy job of cutting off the ring. Good round for Towne outlanding Ayala Jr almost 2:1

Round 6: Towne is very accurate with his punches. Referee warns Ayala Jr for holding and hitting. Ayala lands two wicked shots to the ribs and Towne winces in pain. Round was a brawl.

Round 7: Ayala Jr was a little slow getting off his stool for Round 7. Referee tells Ayala Jr to quit holding and hitting and then deducts a point from him. That's the 4th foul and 2nd point deduction so far for him. Ayala Jr traps Towne in a corner. Cortez steps in and admonishes Ayala Jr for using his elbows. Referee has seen enough and disqualifies Ayala Jr and awards the victory to Artie Towne.

Round 1: Fighters circle, measuring each other from a distance. Wissenbach lands his jab. Hagler hurts Wissenbach with a smashing hook. Round too close to call

Round 2: Fighters exchange in the ring center. Hagler's punches are more damaging. Wissenbach tries to keep Hagler off him with his jab. Wissenbach is hurt and grabs Hagler. Referee breaks up clinch. Hagler lands a straight left. Wissenbach gasps for air.

Round 3: Wissenbach jabs and clinches. Neither fighter is effective this round

Round 4: Wissenbach rushes out of his corner at the opening bell. Referee warns Wissenbach for hitting with an open glove. Wissenbach is on his bicycle and utilizing his hand speed. Referee issues a warning to Wissenbach for a intentional head butt. Wissenbach outlands Hagler 36-6

Round 5: Hagler clinches. Hagler follows up a good body shot with an uppercut that sends Wissenbach reeling. Hagler lets his hands go. Wissenbach has swelling around his left eye. Big round for Hagler. Fighters continue to throw punches after the bell and the referee has to break them up

Round 6: Hagler lands a good body shot. Swelling in increasing around Wissenbach's left eye. Referee warns Hagler for hitting with his shoulders in close. Hagler outlands Wissenbach 30-12

Round 7: Wissenbach is covering up to protect his body but is leaving his chin unprotected. Hagler clinches. Dull round. Too close to call

Round 8: Wissenbach is starting to fatigue. Another boring round. Hagler does a lot of holding.

Round 9: Hagler's punches are being smothered effectively. Both fighters paw with their jabs. Hagler lands a hard hook. Wissenbach is favoring his ribs. Wissenbach doesn't have much left.

Round 10: Hagler tries to muscle his way inside, but Wissenbach clinches. Hagler lands a wicked combination. Wissenback is stopped cold. He pitches forward and crashes to the canvas. Wissenback rolls over and climbs back to his feet by 8. Hagler tries to finish him off but can't find range for his punches.

Round 11: Wissenbach looks fine after last round's knockdown. Wissenbach is very focused and active. Hagler is fading. Wissenbach outlands Hagler 36-12

Round 12: A clash of heads results in no damage to either fighter. Wissenbach scores with an uppercut. Swelling under Wissenbach's left eye is increasing. Hagler grabs Wissenbach's head and pulls it down into his chest. Referee has to force Hagler to let him go. Both fighters are cautious this round

Round 13: Hagler lands a short clean uppercut, dropping Wissenbach like he was shot. Wissenbach back up after 3. Wissenbach goes down again after a strong combination. Wissenbach barely gets up after 8. Hagler lands a tremendous shot under Wissenbach's ribcage and he crumbles to the canvas. Somehow, Wissenbach gets back up after a 7-count. Hagler starts pummeling Wissenbach. Wissenbach is now defenseless and the referee stops the fight at 2:20 mark of round

Round 1: Huge opening round for the defending champion. Flowers seems to land his punches at will. Graziano is outlanded 57-7

Round 2: Flowers traps Graziano in a corner. Graziano cannot seem to land any of his punches. Referee warns Flowers for holding and hitting. Another big round for Flowers

Round 3: Flowers darts in an out, keeping Graziano off balance. Better round for Graziano, but he is still being outlanded 2:1

Round 4: Graziano lands an uppercut, but there wasn't much on it. Flowers is dancing around the ring. Close round. Graziano is starting to land more.

Round 5: Good action round. Too close to call. Flowers is starting to feel Graziano's power

Round 6: Referee tells Flowers to keep his punches up and issues a warning. Flowers is using his legs to stay away from Graziano. Flowers clinches when Graziano gets too close. Graziano is again having difficulty landing his punches

Round 7: Graziano is getting pretty disgusted. Flowers is the busier fighter, but gets hurt at one point by a Graziano body shot. Flowers manages to smother most of Graziano's punches

Round 8: Referee deducts a point from Flowers for a low blow. It seems that the referee is the only one to have actually seen it. Flowers flicks out his jab. Referee warns Flowers for leaning on Graziano's neck. Graziano hurts Flowers witha vicious cross.

Round 9: Flowers wins an exchange in the center of the ring. A jab snaps Graziano's head back and a cut opens on his forehead. Close round

Round 10: Cut on Graziano's forehead is reopened and bleeding profusely. Graziano doesn't have much left. Referee admonishes Flowers for holding and hitting and then deducts a point from him. Huge round for the champion. Flowers outlands Graziano 71-13

Round 11: Flowers opens round with a nice two-punch combination. Graziano is bleeding again from the cut on his forehead. Blood is trickling into Graziano's face. Referee stops action and asks the doctor to examine him. Doctor allows fight to continue. Lots of clinching and holding. Referee issues a warning to Graziano for holding and hitting. Flowers continues to be the busier fighter

Round 12: Fighters ard just pawing at each other. Graziano's forehead cut starts bleeding into his eyes again resulting in another visit to the doctor. Doctor lets the fight continue. Lots of pushing and shoving this round

Round 13: Cut is reopened and blood continues to flow into Graziano's eyes. Referee sees Flowers leaning on Graziano's neck, stops action and deducts another point from the champion --- that 3 points deducted so far this fight. Graziano manages to smother many of Flowers' punches, but does ablsolutely nothing offensively

Round 14: Cut is repened again and blood is flowing into Graziano's eye. Graziano seems to be having difficulty seeing. Referee stops action and consults the doctor again. This time, the doctor has seen enough and will not let Graziano continue. Referee calls an end to the fight @ 1:15 of Round 14

Things are fine. I'm really burnt out w/ UTBA-II right now. I can give a list of excuses including:

• I've been sick on-and-off since Christmas
• Just came off a hard week of night shift at work
• Too much snow shoveling from recent storm in Connecticut
• Work is going to be very demanding (lots of OT) for at least a few months
• Got sidetracked w/ another hobby

But overall, I just can't seem to devote the time to UTBA-II that I have in the past. Don't get me wrong, I have enjoyed running the league since Scot stepped away from it and am still someone who likes compiling useless stats. It has just become more difficult for me to set aside a couple of hours each night to the league. I really don't feel good about just dumping bout results out without maintaining all of the background stats. To me, it would be a disservice to everyone who has been involved.

I've been toying with restarting a Heavyweight universe that I scrapped before UTBA-II became such a time-consuming part of every day. Part of me really wants to get back to enjoying the game via a created universe that I can just deal with at my leisure and not have to post anything to the board. I also want to start clearing out over 2000 photos that I have yet to crop/resize and then post (another time-consuming project)

I don't want this to be an announcement that UTBA-II is over in its current form, but I do need to take a break from it. I will try to at least run the rest of the EOY Tournaments but cannot give any timeframe on their completion. A bout here or there may trickle out in the next few days, but my work schedule is going to eat up a lot of my free time (in fact, I have to go back in tonight for a couple of hours).

If anyone out there wants to give running the league a try, I will be more than happy to turn over all of the stats files and other stuff that I have in order to make a transition go smoothly.

I have been amazed from the start at the amount of effort you have put into making this work, and it has been great. There are very few people who would go out of their way to that degree for nothing but the enjoyment of gaming with ones friends.

If it is permanent and nobody else steps up to take over, then its been a fun ride.

If it's just a temporary thing and you think you may return to it then lets just take a break for a few months and see where it stands. Perhaps a reduced format would ease the workload to make it a bit easier on you.

Whatever the case;

Agreed. Your dedication to this league has been nothing short of remarkable and I'm amazed that you were able to last so long with it and also keep the updates coming at a consistent rate.

If this is the end of the UTBA, perhaps any future version of it would be served well by having a number of people ruinning it so that the workload is more easily managed.

However, if it eventually starts back up again I am ready to create the schedule for season five.
