This is fine and fully within his right to do and we have no problems with them taking this action.

But knowing it is coming in 2 - 3 weeks, why not just wait? Are youg oing to pay an additional $9.00 for it when the update comes out?

Now I find the rug is being pulled out and the feature may never be implemented. Without H2H, I could just keep playing OOTP5 and have pretty much the same game. "It will be in the patch" is a standard fallback position of companies when they release games, so who knows if we will actually ever see it.

At this point, I'd like a refund so I can spend my money on a game I don't already have.

i think its ridiculous to ask for a refund now when you know u will end up buying it later for full price.Save yourself a kick in the ass and dont get the refund.

I don't know why Markus started this hype about a possible early release version. Indications were that the development and testing was going according to plan. I think most people were laid back and understanding about the whole release thing and willing to accept whenever it was going to eventually come out. Then this post shows up asking how many people would want the game early with the H2H left out, and the flood gates opened and then some. I believe then everybody thought it would be out in a day or couple of days. Everybody is all hyped up again about nothing. If Steve's reply to posts about the game's release it that "OOTP6 will be released when it is done" then why was there ever talk about releasing the game before it is done?

I don't think they expected all these decenting comments. Because lets face it. H2H has not been a part of this game. They were trying to please the majority. Then everyone started attacking eachother. As much as I enjoy reading all of that it will probably be all for nothing and they will probably do exactly what they said. In fact i'm pretty surprised the "NO" votes are at 100. That is impressive for a game that never had H2H.

Again, people don't seem to quite understand what Markus is saying... Markus asked if he should concentrate on finishing the rest of the game before finalizing H2H so that he can release it sooner. So it's not as if he is releasing a game that is not fully functional and tested. Everything up till the H2H will be tested and ready when released.

85% of people are in favor of this, it's not even a close vote. If you run a company and you can satisfy 85% of people you do it. Believe me, you would much rather satisfy the majority, not the minority. The rest of you will still get what you want, just a couple of weeks early. Why wait and have poor Markus try and rush out H2H when he can take a little longer time that he needs and get it done without hearing everyone else asking when is the release. This way, everyone is satisfied.

Ummmmm....

Yes, Markus said that if he leaves out H2H in the release build, it would be out "faster."

Nowhere did he say or indicate that it would be out "in a day or a couple of days." To the contrary, Steve informed us that a release is *NOT* imminent, and Markus said that he had hoped to get the game out by April 15th, but that he might be able to save about week by leaving out H2H. *IF* he chooses to go that route (and we don't know that he willl) that means that he would hope that he could get the game out roughly by April 8th.

If people choose to make up their own timetables, rather than reading what OOTP Developments staff members are telling us, that's not OOTP's fault...

Exellent.
Skydogs explaination above seems to be a *perfect* summary of the current situation.

I say 'wow' because I've read SO many posts on this topic, I can't believe it can summed that succinctly! Bang on. Someone should sticky just that post so I can read it everytime I start to loose perspective.

I've been keeping up to date with this thread and how out of control it has been getting but I have yet to post until now because this is my exact feelings on this matter. The game will be out soon enough, have some trust in these guys they haven't let us down yet!

Thanks Zorro!

Jersey Pride, there has been no decision announced about what he has decided to do. With any luck we will sign on tomorrow and version 6 will be released, lol!

I beleive I said something close to this about 150 posts ago. I was a little less diplomatic about it because I just called a spade a spade. Kudos for using more tact, I guess.

So, needless to say, I agree. I look at some of these posts and wonder what in the blue hell these people are reading. Then it dawns on me... maybe they're not reading at all.

Amigo, can you please link me up to where this was said by someone associated with the development of the game?

Basically someone somewhere along the way said "Hey, now they're not gonna give us H2H and they're trying to screw us all over" and now everyones going crazy over something that was never said by anyone related in any way to the game. Everyone assosiated with the game keeps saying that it will be, just a matter of a few more weeks so if we wanted they could give us the game without H2H to play around while they put the final touches on H2H and make sure it all works.

Personally, its a very tough thing to point a Yes or no, on where to put the H2H

You have to keep in mind, the OOTP newsletter was sent out, with things to make US prepay for OOTP6. Nothing in that newsletter said "pending confimration or waiting on something". We were given the newsletter, with H2H saying it was to do with OOTP6. It never said how it will be if it will work correct, but how it was said, it would be there

What I am trying to say is, the guy buying OOTP6 wants to know what is in it, and the guy selling him OOTP6 wants to make sure he is giving him alot or many good things in the program

Maybe the newsletter was ahead of itself? Maybe it wasnt ready to be sent out, if the game isnt even ready to what was ON the newsletter

I think its very hard for the buyers to sit and be happy, when a poll is posted to see what WE want for the game WE already payed for.

I think that poll and all this should of been done BEFORE the newsletter thats all.

I think there is a difference if a prepaid feature was never applied, and then these changes may take place. Right now, to some it looks like we were asked to pay up some coin for something we thought we were getting, then it is now up for debate on a forum if we will be getting what we wanted

To me, 2 weeks, 4 weeks, 10 weeks until the H2H is fine with me, but all I want is for it to WORK. Right now, I am a little sketched on that, more then I would be if this was not brought up to a poll and so on. We all had to wait a few months, and 2 weeks is no longer, for something to be in there, that should be.

I think all this talk should of been left out of it, and just do what you have to or need to do.

No matter if you put H2H in, or you dont for the first version, there will be guys who havent read this thread, and go to dled it when it comes out, not to see h2h and be upset
