2nd consecutive season Division Winners,
3rd consecutive playoffs, loving the Houston High Heaters! Delta Tau AA. Despite Chone Figgins having an off year but I cannot recommend him enough! Defence, switch hitter, leadoff he can do it all, powerful 1-2 with my Derek Jeter '09. My pitching staff anchored by Blake Snell hopefully can take the High Heaters to the championship! Tied for the second wildcard spot with three games to go but those are against the division leader. This is the closest I have gotten to a post season. There are 3 of the six divisions still up for grabs. Much better than last season when stacked teams all had their divisions wrapped up with a full month to go.

Anyone from Omikron Delta care to give an update? Won't be able to log on until late tomorrow. Would hate to find out that my team had some sort of epic meltdown and missed the playoffs

Lexington and 8gomon are fighting for the last wildcard spot in NC.

Thanks for the update! Looks like my Carnivores ended up with the same record as the Wildcats. Who will get home advantage? I hope it's not them, I would hate playing four games in their tricked out ballpark 😁

And it is Lexington is heading to the playoffs. I beat 8gomon in their final game, and Lexington won their game so they ended up 2 games ahead of them in the wild card race.

There is a good chance I'm still getting promoted if the numbers in the game are correct, which would mean an even more painful week next week if we weren't restarting and doing it for real.

Made the playoffs as the second wildcard team and the division went to a one game tie breaker to decide the winner. Three playoff teams come from our division. I ended up playing spoiler by sweeping the first place team to end the season which is how the second place team caught up.
But I have to play them again now in the wildcard game and it will be tough to beat them in four straight. Here is my team. I started with a single gold (Seager) and then got lucky with a random pack and got Machado on Tuesday. |

Congrats on making it this year Maddox. Good luck! Last season I went in as a wild card and ended up winning it all, so give them hell.

Once the ballpark effects are toned down, things should get more competitive. Hopefully there will be fewer teams running away with the division.

My final team season stats. Think they did pretty good for being lower rated then a lot of the other team's rosters.

I'm leading off with Figgins, too. And I converted him to SS! Last edited by Echo127; 11-25-2018 at 11:38 AM. |

Lost my Wildcard game. I knew it was a long shot to beat that team 4 games in a row.
I am glad we are finishing the beta because I assume I would be promoted since I made the playoffs and my team would struggle against tougher competition. |

Had the 2nd best record in the entire league but ended up a wild card and lost in the wild card game to a team that I was 6-0 against in the regular season.
Knew it was going to happen |

Me, I'm in the playoffs despite being near the bottom in every offensive category. The problem with my defense first strategy is that I really have no further way to improve now short of saving up for perfect pitchers. The top position players really don't have the defensive chops that I'm looking for, and I'm not sure the guys I have will hit enough to remain a 95-105 win team next year. It's not like a solo league where there are a huge abundance of players, and there are always 1 or 2 out there who will catch my eye. Maybe in the real version I'll settle for 'above average' defensively and focus more on OBP. |

105-57 finish, 19 games out of first. Lost the Wild Card game. Ugh.
At least I swept the first place team in a 4 game series in August. That was like my World Series. |

![]() I think that is somewhat what I ran into this season. Where I upgraded it tended to be at the expense of defensive ability, and my pitching staff was facing tougher teams. So I still did decently on getting runs, but I gave up a lot more than I did before, and when it came to games that were close, this season we were on the losing side of that equation more often than not. My defensive efficiency was horrible this season. The rate at which I'm generating PP now, maybe 3000 or so in a season, upgrading the team is going to be a slow process and probably involve selling off someone like Arenado who doesn't seem to produce as would be expected. His 25+ HR were nice, but he has hit about .230 for me the entire time I've had him. Good luck in the playoffs. |
