If my memory served me right, Boston is a notoriously slow starter
(last like season, at this time) but a fast finisher ... not to worry ... we'll be alright, mates ...

Trade News!
Hit the Road Jack! Jack Coombs seems to be a victim of "what have you done for me latley" Syndrom. The 36yr old Pitcher put up All-Star caliber numbers last year but was shelled in his only outing this year giving up 9er in just 3ip against Washington.Along side Coombs on the train will be MR Ferdie Schuup a player who has yet to live up to his potential. ![]() Boston hopes Rube becomes a double threat to go along with Ruth, O'Doul and Kinney. Rube Bressler is 1-1 this year with a 5.25 era and comes over with MR Larry Jacobus a 2nd year player with an up side, Rube is the type of player Boston Brass really likes and if he developes will be a very formidable player both on the mound and in the OF, Bressler is a very capable LF/RF as well as a starter.

1919 Regular Season Game 10
Ruth Slams HR #1 and 2 ![]() It was only a matter of time! Carl Mayes gets his 2nd win with a complete game as the Boston bats come alive and the defense plays flawless! The Box Score ![]() Today's Games ![]() Some times the baseball gods speak to you in subtle ways, Like when you talk about trading an Icon like Harry Hooper and the player that would replace him immediatly goes down with a minor injury and lets Harry play just enough to realize how valuable his defense really is in RF. Or when you make an offer for a Pitcher (Ray Caldwell) and the next game you play that pitcher leaves the game with an injury voiding any possibility of an answer from the respective team he plays on...then some times they SCREAM DON"T DO IT via in game e-mail..... ![]() ![]() n

1919 Regular Season Game 15
Another excruciating loss to Washington Babe Ruth had plenty of spare time (and Cigars) the last 3 days waiting to get his first start of the year! Babe Ruth was a scratch from starting today as Brass feels 2 days off isn't enugh to allow ruth to pitch at full effeciveness for enough innings to make the start worth wild. The Box Score ![]() Today's Games ![]() Up next Boston starts a 3 game series with Philly over the next 5 days that includes 3 days off. n

1919 Regular Season Game 16
Ruth Wins nearly single handily Babe Ruth earns the win with 7 fine innings and hits a 2-run homer for Bostons only runs! The Box Score ![]() Today's Games ![]() Note: Boston Brass is very unhappy with it's choices of RHB off the bench for pinch hitting purposes, hopefully that will change in 4 days when Smoky Joe returns from injury but look for Boston to start searching for this years "Bill Hinchman" if he isn't satisfied in a week or two
