How do you create these?

I made some changes to your HS DB. Then tried to start a game directing it to use the Master.csv file instead. Game crashed.

It is legendary secret sauce stuff and cannot be revealed except to one who has passed the OOTP Master Snack Stop process. If you do not have a Doctorate in Funkaliciousness you are outta luck.

Plus, I actually have no idea how it works.

I am fairly kinda sorta pretty much hoping this was an programming omission error (pointing to the master.csv no longer works) and will be corrected in a future update so that the ODB is not necessary. It may be that the new Random feature requires the ODB file. In which case I'd hope the ODB creation process could be made generically available.

New Spritze HS database available for OOTP 13.

Contains complete major and minor career for all players 1871 - 1900 and Bryce Harper and a Yu Darvish update because many peoples were asking.

Now, is this HS DB with or without the Asians, or should one "doctor" the stuff with that master.csv file from old Asian DB for OOTp12 ??

Then where is the newly created file ????

Doctoring no longer works as the ODB file is required and cannot be doctored. Since 98.9% of the Asians simply fill the minors IF they get signed as free agents at all this should not be a deal-breaker.

PM any of myselves for the download location.

Oops - deal breaker for me I'm sad to say (on OOTP13 anyway).

I love that HS db that you created with Asians, Negro leagues, selected minor leaguers and the kitchen sink. I haven't moved to 13 yet and may not if I can't carry that gem with me.

This is the one I'm talking about. It is an update of the OOTP12 HS db for use with OOTP13.

One thing that I think is sad is this.

I start in 1987 Historical League.
Looking at Andre Dawson.
He is still with Expos, and what is worst and not only Mr.Dawson is that all his stats in Real Life and Neut Stats shows that he played his entire career in Expos.

Looking in batting.csv I can see that it clearly says MON on ALL the years.

In Gambos version he has CHC in 1987 onwards.

Tell what´s the idea with this or .....

The db was developed before historical transactions existed and so players were only ever assigned by OOTP to their first major league team. I had a Real Teams version of the db at the time as well. Gambo took that Real Teams version and folded it into his own db. I then moved on to the High School version I currently play with and update.

In the HS version all players are available at 18 (or earlier if their professional career started before then, I think 15 is the youngest). Some go to college for a year or seven and some go straight to the pros. With recalc on they progress through the minor league system and generally show up in the majors around the age they really did with the skill set they really possessed.
The db also contains lots and lots of Negro, PCL and Asian players and I add/update more with each release. The Gambo db only has a few of these baseball players.

It sounds like you really want the Gambo db, not the Spritze db. The Spritze db exists so a player can make all the player personnel decisions from the first draft day through their entire minor and major league organizations. I guess it is built more for a cradle to grave historical fictional league than the Gambo database. They both use the same set of stats. There are just more player years (and players) in the Spritze db.

Basically what I do is take Spritze HS database each year and edit it into the Gambo db. I haven't done an update for this year as of yet.

I still may do one if I get the time (new baby and no longer work from home)

You can get around the "no doctoring" limitation by creating a game in OOTP12 using the 'doctored" txt file DB, then importing that DB into OOTP13. You will loose the speed of the ODB file, so don't make a league with too many levels, but at least you can modify the players and their stats to your statistical desires. (you will get a error message when starting the game, but all else goes the way it should).

My idea of doctoring the master.csv only.
Plainly is to get rid of Asians, at least the blokes that never got to the majors.
Same I like ex. Ichiro to pop up when he actually did, not as a young player.

So this can´t be done then. I have to keep deleting players when they drop in, and then just import those who should, when they did travelled to US.

Same stuff with koreans, and probably some others too.

A yearly maneuver but can be done.

Importing the game from the previous version lets you do that too....
I took out many Asian players who did not play at least 10 years (in real life) from the master file. I also removed positions from players who were primary a pitcher, most of their career, and removed nick names. (I've also changed the league structure, adding west coast teams in to the majors in the late 20's) While it does make some of the games housekeeping run a lot slower, it's only a couple of times a season.

Three questions.

1) where can i DL this DB ?
2) is it compatible with 13?
3) what do i need to do to import draft classes for particular years such as 1998/1999/2000 etc? if i set the game to this database automatically will it pull the guys in as prospects?

thank you very much for your hard work

I had heard of this DB but never really looked into it. Looks like just what I would want!

Just two questions...

Would it be possible to use this DB and create a league starting in 1871, release all the players, delete the teams, create fake teams and then advance throughout history with my own baseball universe, but using the players in this database? And do I need to have them drafted, or could I check the option that lets them come in as free agents?

Thanks.

I tried out starting up with Gambos latest DB in 1987, Setting up Double and Triple A minors only.

Could this be the reason that many players came in as FA instead of the team they actually should have been attached to.

Ex. Reggie Sanders is set in the master.csv to pop up in 1987 as a SS. He has neutralized stats for CIN, but is found as a FA.

I haven´t tested the result if I add Single A too, but before perhaps I could get a hint on what´s wrong.

The fact is also that the Double A teams are far from full, some only have 4-5 players, so it´s a bit weird.

My previous attemp with doctoring the master.csv can´t be made, since I read that only the ODB-file can be read by the newest versions.

What bothers me too is the way some players get imported into the universe.

It´s got to do with major league service, amount of pro-years and on secondary rosters. Some is totally messed up.
I got players that haven´t played a day in the majors at the time of import, but looking at their contracts they have up 1000 days of major league service.

That really messing up contract stuffs in the game.
Sad, and not no how to deal with it.

I´m using neutralized stats if it helps, or actually is the key to the mess.
