NFL head coach is garbage, unless you like playing with last year's rosters and an incomplete draft pool. Playing as the Cowboys, I couldn't draft their 3rd-7th round picks, simply because the guys weren't in the game. The free agency system is a joke; everyone (even Edge James) resigns with their old team, so you are left with dregs. This tells me the salary system is bogus, since there is no way under the sun that Indy was going to keep James. Terrell Owens is in Philadelphia, Daunte Culpepper in Minnesota, Drew Brees in SD...etc etc... I can't play like this. Damn EA for releasing a POS with last year's roster. They wouldn't dare pull that with Madden, and I cannot for the life of me understand why they did it here.
I hate NFL Coach. I've already tried to return it. Seriously considered throwing it out the window in fury on the drive back home from EB. (Quote:

It's not great. But it's ok. I don't need to mirror a team's move, I can make my own. |

I don't know if it's been stated before, but in earlier games, they had the game come stock with MLB rosters and just changed names. Like in Seattle there was a guy named Francisco in RF who had a great contact rating and avoid K's, but no power or ability to walk. Oh yeah, he could steal too and played gold glove defense. Everyone knew it was Ichiro. In St. Louis there was always a guy who played first base and crushed the ball. We all knew it was Pujols.
How come the sudden change in things? Did it become harder to put in stock rosters? Does that make it easier on you guys when the game comes with stock rosters? |

Has anyone heard anything about Halofan's rosters? I'm surprised those haven't been mentioned at all in here.

I remember spending a couple months in FL and we didn't have internet access....I installed OOTP on my cousins computer and spent a weekend renaming as many of the players I could using a baseball encyclopedia to help me out when I couldn't remember who a certain guy was. It wasn't as good as most of the roster sets...but it wasn't that hard to have the major league level feel like the major league level. |

It seems to me that the original plan was to have this roster set released at the same time as the game. These guys had access to the game early to work on them and stuff. Unfortunately, due to the game being brand new it was much harder for them to creat rosters and then they apparently had problems with the rosters being compatible from beta build to beta build (virtually wiping out any work they had done). So, the rosters didn't get done in time for the release and they are still working on them. I would be next year things will get back to normal as far as an "equivalent" real player roster set being available virtually right away and/or being released with the game itself. |

From what I understand, NFL Head Coach has problems, but your gripes make virtually no sense. The game starts off at the beginning of this off-season. So, it makes sense that all of those players are with the teams they were at that time. I am a bit surprised that there are any real rookies in there at all, I would be it was somewhat hard to get the rights to them considering when the game was in its' main development they weren't even part of the league yet. You are also basing your thoughts of the financial system based on one random signing that didn't happen exactly like real life. It sounds to me that you completely missed the point of that game which is to simulate being an NFL Head Coach...not simulate the 2006 NFL season exactly like it happens in real life. So, basically, your opinion of the game is worthless. |
