25 years ago this weekend since the death of Bill Shankly one of the greatest managers ever, if it weren't for Shankly Liverpool would probably be playing Accrington Stanley or the likes this weekend.

He took Liverpool to 3 1st division titles, 2 FA Cups, 1 UEFA Cup and a 2nd division title and laid the foundations for every Liverpool success since.

He was a funny man but people took him too serious when he said such things as "football isn't a matter of life or death it's more important" which he said tongue in cheek, he also said when he was manager at Anfield that he had the best two teams on merseyside Liverpool and Liverpool reserves.

I'd put Shankly in the top five British managers with Bob Paisley, Jock Stein, Brian Clough and Alex Ferguson. I'd put Bob Paisley top of the list as imo he's the greatest manager of all time not only in England and Europe but worldwide, the other's would have to be equal second as Shankly, Ferguson and Clough all built teams from scratch and Stein took a Celtic team to European glory in 67 with a team made up of all Scottish players which I can pretty much guarentee will never happen again.

It maybe easy to take over a team like Partizan or Red Star or ther teams like that but try winning a European trophy when you only have £50,000 to spend and other teams have £20 million to spend.
Good points, Good luck in whichever direction you choose to go.

Great game coming up on the 1st, Hajduk Split v Dinamo Zagreb, two of the biggest teams in Croatian football but also the top two teams in the division this season by some margin, what I would give to go watch that game.

WTF grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr I don't live in Bolton, did you know that Bolton's ground is actually closer to Wigan than it is to Bolton and that really Bolton Wanderers should be called Lostock Wanderers.

Actually it wouldn't cost that much to go watch it, cheap flights to Croatia and tickets to games are real cheap, in fact probably cost less to go watch that game than it would say to go watch Wigan play at Chelsea.

No we haven't got those. We run diesel and electric trains on routes that have been there for the best part of 100 years in most cases.

An example of that is that to get to London you actually go slightly west to start with as the train stops at Gloucester and then goes in the reverse direction of travel as it leaves, as that is the way it was setup.

So if you don't like going backwards you should sit that way for the 10 minutes travel from Cheltenham Spa so you are in the right way for the rest of the journey.

You have to pay a small amount, so that the pumps can be kept in good condition, but yes anyone can go and get the spa water if they want.
