Well Rooney is supposedly the new Maradona, so obviously England now have both of them in one team - a rare event.

And he's now on the scoresheet as well, with a bicycle kick of all things. Swoon on Crouch now. Liverpool 3, Galatasaray 0.

Crouch looks like a better signing than Schevchenko at the moment

I don't think so. Also because I'm not a real football fan, unlike a certain Wigan fan who also has no love for the poor lamb. You should tell him to get Crouch in his avatar.

Well I would have said it is only against the worst team in the competition, but after seeing Dynamo Kiev's capitulation at Real Madrid last night, which followed a 4-1 reversal at home to Steaua Bucharest, I think Levski might not actually be the worst.

I don't think that a limit on foreign players would be off any particular help in terms of local passion - if someones playing for my team it doesn't make a difference to me where he's from...!

That being said, in terms of development of younger players, its an excellent idea - or rather the one they have in Germany where there has to be a certain number of German youth players in the squad (or something like that).

As you may or may not know, I'm not a fan of a team, so you can take this with a pinch of a salt maybe.
But what it seems to me is if you were to bring in a quota, all that it would do is dilute the talent level in the Championship because the better players would have to be bought by the Premier League clubs to get under the quota.
And that would surely see an already wide gap between the Premier League and the Championship get even wider.
Although maybe I'm wrong.

I wonder if it wouldnt give more local players a chance to develop into very good players. It seems like decisions on players futures are made a little to quickly these days.
