I mean, people say that having the 2008 Olympics in Beijing is going to help break down the communist barriers the Chinese government put on their people. But I'm not too confident it will.

We have a lot of Persians in the neighborhood I live in and it seems the prevalent view is that the Mullahs are as corrupt and as greedy as the Shah. IMO when the world isolates Iran it forces the populace to circle the wagons around the current government.
