I'm thinking that 1998 Yankees should have a meeting with Shaq. He seems to know how to ask someone to kiss his behind.

Now, isn't that interesting. I figured one pitcher would get bombed while the other would do well today. I just had the order wrong Ponson shut out the Mets over 6 innings. Not bad at all.

Giese on the other hand didn't help himself out very much today though.

I missed the first game and the beginning of the second and when my brother told me the score of the first I laughed and said, "Well, wasn't Ponson pitching?"

And he respond backs, "No, Ponson is pitching right now." I stayed quiet and my brother then says, "I guess he showed you."

:/

Yes, a strange day pitching-wise for the Yankees. And a very bad day for Ohlendorf, who was demoted between games. He really cannot complain with this record:

Code:

IP H R ER BB K HR Season ERA
R. Ohlendorf 1.1 5 6 6 1 0 1 6.52
He's got to be feeling even worse knowing that he was moved out to make room for Igawa.

Ross is a good kid and I think the Yankees really really like him. But he needs to be more consistent. Just based on the fact that Cashman wants the kid to succeed, we know he'll have more opportunities to do so.

He'll be OK, send him down to get his confidence back and he'll be back. He just needs to be more consistent.

Nice job by the pen tonight tho, way to go!

Yeah, I figure we'll see Ross again. Nice to see Igawa was sent back down too

I'm so glad we beat Santana. Baby Georgie would have been whining like crazy if we lost.

What, again? Was he up for an entire day this time? That guy has to be able to drive Route 80 blindfolded by now.

Well, not really...
I am sure he has the personal driver to take him wherever he needs to go.
(You know how much he earns, thanks to Mr. Cashman)

Heh, good point. If he is blindfolded during the trip, it's only so he can sleep better in the back seat of his limo.

Any reviews on Robinson? According to the FoxSports story, he's averaged more than a strikeout an inning in his minor league career. The #s aren't too impressive from today's game, but how did he look?

You know you're getting old when you've been away for a while, come back for a visit, and the first thing somebody says to you is "Well, you look good" like Kay told Kaat on the air. It's like something you have to say to somebody who needs reassurance about not looking old.

A-Bomb from A-Rod as I was typing that. He either tied or passed Jimmy Foxx on the all-time home run list, I could not hear that clearly. Really a long blast into Monument Park.

Have I mentioned I can't stand Betamit at all??? Can you say awful?

Also, watching Giambi just now round second on the single headed to third made me think it would be faster if we can put him in a wheel barrell and have someone pushing it around the bases when the ball is hit.

I've only seen 1-2 Yankee games this year. What's wrong with Betemit?

I can't believe this Rangers series so far. 2 pitcher duels??? What the heck is wrong with the Yankee offense yet again? I figured that would be our strong suit this year while the pitching sorted itself out as it got more experienced.
