A swing in any 2 of these 4 disputed bout could have swung the match in favor of Tomato City.

I guess we'll each just have to pound on the rest of the field until the return match. I hope I can keep my slim lead until then.
Didn't have to pay them to much the UTBA judges are pretty cheap. I don't think SAL pays them to much. That was the closest 7 point match I've ever been a part of. You have a solid shot at keeping that lead as I've got Tile Hill the week before the rematch while your facing Stockholm's Finest so you should be able to open up some space between us.

Three Assassins on top of their divisions in the Silver Conference, plus another in 2nd place. I'm quite happy about that. I just need to score more points in the coming games as I'm the #3 seed for the playoffs at the moment.

UTBA Expansion Rules

It appears that we will be adding one expansion team when the current season closes. Due to the recent discussion of expansion teams that has been on center stage the last 4 days, I've worked up another poll to be voted on by league members concerning the expansion rules.

You will be voting on 1 of the 4 options below.

1)Leave the expansion team rules the way they are currently.

2)Allow expansion teams to take part in the waiver wire with a starting cap of 100.(Cap will remain @ 100 for entire 1st season)

3)Allow expansion teams to take part in the waiver wire with a starting cap of 98.(Cap will remain @ 98 for entire 1st season)

4)Allow expansion teams to take part in the waiver wire with a starting cap of 95.(Cap will remain @ 95 for entire 1st season)

Also, there is about 2 1/2 days left in the Beginner/Pre-prime cap cost reduction poll to vote. 10 members have not voted yet.

Expansion or Replacement?

If the result of the ownership change would be to keep the league at 24 teams and simply replace one owner with a new one, why would that necessarily trigger the expansion rules? Could you just say the new owner steps into the shoes of the old one, with the same roster, same rights as that owner would have had, etc.?

The previous time we were in this situation we just allowed the new owner to have an expansion team and all of the previous owners fighters went into the draft pool. For consistency purposes this was the best approach at that time due to 4 other expansion teams being assembled at the same time. My thinking is that it is easier for the new owner to become involved if they get to pick their own roster rather than working off of a previously formed roster.

Announcement

Although there is still time left to vote on the 2 aging polls, we have a majority vote on both already.

UTBA Team Cap Point Reduction Rule Proposal for beginner & pre-prime fighters failed to collect enough votes to pass.

UTBA Team Cap Point Reduction Rule Proposal for Post-Prime & End fighters passed.
It will go into effect at the end of this season and I will go ahead and add this to the rules.

The proposal we voted on was to reduce the cap points on team rosters for any fighter who reaches Post Prime or End.

Once a fighter reaches Post Prime his rating only counts 75% toward a teams cap (rounded up).
Example:
A (10) rated fighter x .75 = 7.5 rounded up, would count as 8 actual cap points toward the team cap instead of 10.

Once a fighter reaches END his cap cost is 50%.
Example:
A (10) rated x .50 = 5 rounded up would count as 5 actual cap points toward the team cap instead of 10.

I'll list the fighters with their overall rating like I always do and add a /# to the fighters (OR) that are at post & end. The number in red will count towards the team cap and not their original (OR).

Example:
(15/12)Ali at post-prime

15 x .75 = 11.25 or 12 rounded up.
In this case, a team will only be charged 12 points toward their cap instead of 15.

or.........

(15/8)Ali at End.

15 x .50 = 7.5 or 8 rounded up.
In this case, a team will only be charged 8 points toward their cap instead of 15.

New Rule for Waiver Claims

The following will be the new rules for how all waivers will be handled after week 5 of the UTBA. This new rule is to help in the operation of the league.

Some of this is old hat. I tried to highlight in blue anything new.

How the new rule will read.............
FREE AGENTS / WAIVER REQUESTS:

Throughout the season you may want to improve your roster by adding available free agents and release fighters that are not performing up to your expectations.

All fighters in the Draft/Free Agent Pool will be available.

Free agent requests must be sent by PM to the commissioner.

Requests will be processed on a first-come, first-served using the Waiver process. (see Waivers below)

There will be four rounds (Sunday through Thursday 8 pm CST) in succession each week to request & acquire free agents.(see Waiver Schedule below)

There will be a limit of 1 fighter request per per waiver round.
When submitting your free agent request by PM, state which fighter you wish to claim from the Draft/Free Agent Pool. (You may select alternates in your request in the event a fighter that you request is picked up on waivers before your teams turn in the waiver order)
You can announce (by PM) which fighter/s you wish to release from your roster at anytime during the waiver rounds, Sunday through Thursday 8 pm CST. A team roster must be at or below the 105 point cap limit by Thursday 8pm CST deadline or the roster will be subject to a Penalty Provision.

During the 4 day waiver process, the team cap of 105 points will be waived. Teams will be allowed to have their cap exceed the 105 limit during the waiver rounds but the team cap must be at or below the 105 limit by the end of the 4th waiver round, every Thursday @ 8 pm CST.

Penalty Provision.

If a team is over the 105 cap at the end of the waiver period (each Thursday @ 8 pm CST), the commissioner reserves the right to take corrective action with the offending team. This may include both releasing a fighter as well as adding a fighter from the FA pool.

Waiver Schedule:
(Each round will consist of a 24 hour period)
1st waiver round; Starts every Sunday at 8 pm CST to Monday 8 pm CST.
2nd waiver round; Starts every Monday at 8 pm CST to Tuesday 8 pm CST.
3rd waiver round; Starts every Tuesday at 8 pm CST to Wednesday 8 pm CST.
4th waiver round; Starts every Wednesday at 8 pm CST to Thursday 8 pm CST.

WAIVERS:
To provide an equal opportunity to all managers to add fighters to their roster from the Draft/Free Agent Pool, a Waiver process is used. Fighters that are requested by PM will be put in a pending status. This allows multiple teams to request the same fighters. The order in which these requests are processed is based on the Waiver Rank of each team.

WAIVER RANK:
(Will be determined as follows)

1. Lowest total team point total

2. Second lowest total team point total

3. Third lowest total team point total........following this pattern down to the highest scoring team.

The waiver ranks will change after each legal claim by a team during the 4 waiver rounds.

Pending transactions are processed in an order determined by each teams waiver rank. A team with a waiver rank of 1, considered the highest, will get its requested selection (fighter) first. After the transaction is executed, the team's waiver rank is then set to 20 (last), and all other teams waiver rank move up one spot in the order.

If a teams requested fighter becomes invalid because another team received that requested fighter first, the requested fighter is deleted and if the team selected any alternates, the alternate will become that teams request.

If awarded a waiver selection, it will become effective immediately. All awarded free agents will be announced at the end of every waiver round.

Reminder............... The team cap must be at or below the 105 limit by each Thursday 8 pm CST.
