Yep, common mistake.
Go to CONFIG and make sure the information on the right is correct to match your league (Division Championship, World Championship, etc.) Glad you enjoy the program! Quote:

I just uploaded a new install and exe. You can just grab the exe, no need to reinstall or re-index. This adds the changes to the HTML pages to show the place in the division standings and how many games back.
It also adds the Almanac. Hit the BROWSE button from main menu. I just added the NEXT and PREVIOUS buttons and it works cool. Bring up any screen and hit the next and you see the next year. Very cool. NOTE: This DOES NOT display the current year. (Will add that, but it is trickier, as it is NOT located in the almanac)

BTW, when you bring up a page, like the standings page, all the links on that page will work.
So, if you bring up the salary page and click on a players name, his player sheet (for that year) will be brought up. But, if you click on a link and then hit the next, then it will bring up the next year of the page you were on BEFORE you hit the link button. This is by design.

Wow, I just loaded my 76 year old season into it and played with the almanac function and it was fun! Bring up the standings in 1901 and then just hit NEXT and see 1902, then 1903, etc. The career leaders is cool, because you actually see the career leaders at that time!
A couple notes: None of the buttons will work until you select a year and a team on the top left. All of the buttons on the left are TEAM stuff, while the ones at the top and right are league stuff. If a file can't be displayed, then it will just not show it, no message or anything like that. If a player file was not saved in the almanac, then if you click on his link, it won't show him. (Unless he is HOF or on the current leaderboard). Please let me know how this function works. It is 1600 lines of code!!

Very strange glitch.
When I click to bring up the HTML reports of the teams, I click any of the teams, and the first year of the league, under the GB column, a player is listed. Every year after that is a number, but that first year, on all teams, has a link to a player?! And one minor aesthetic comment: On the almanac browser, wouldn't it make more sense to have the next and previous buttons the other way around? (Just figure then it matches back and forward arrows in browsers etc...) Edit: Holy crap! Just skipped through watching the career HR leaderboard change every year. The record holder, BY FAR, is a player named Patrick Coble... 868 HR's in his career! Wow! Last edited by Bonedwarf; 07-13-2005 at 02:38 AM. |

Larry, same problem with me on the bug about player showing in the GB column in first season. The almanac view for team summary is outstanding. You just topped yourself with this feature.

I didn't know which thread to post in; thought I'd do it here to revive the initial origins and to keep the new thread more problem/issue-free. I'm still having trouble in the TEAM section. Every other area I've explored seems to be fine. I've generated the league files, followed directions to best of my ability, but when clicking on a specific team I get the error message. I can continue, but that section won't generate any reports on or off screen. Thanks in advance.

OK, if it is not seeing the 2004team.txt file, that is easy.
I had posted it right before the crash, maybe you missed it. Go into CONFIG and enter 2004 (if that is your 1st year) in the text box and click GET CONFIGURATION. That should solve the problem. Quote:

Some questions since I didn't see them in the documentation.
What versions of OOTP does this work with? I tried to work with a online league that spans from OOTP4 to OOTP6.5 but that doesn't seem to work.

It is designed for 6.x. I have not a clue what it will do with 4 or 5.

Are you hitting the GET CONFIGURATION button?
You can manually create the file it is erroring on. It contains the list of abbreviations for the team names. BOS BAL CLE ETC... Just make sure they match the order of the league (same as in the lateams.txt file or the logo numbers) Quote:

Very strange...
Try this.. Go into config, enter the year and then hit GET CONFIGURATION.. It should change that button to SAVED. DO NOT click on the SAVE button. That just saves the default. No need to do it more than once. Then go straight into teams. When you hit the GET CONFIGURATION button it creates the LATEAMS file and the file that is missing along with a couple more. For some reason it is not creating that file. Would you be able to zip up the league (minus the photos, but include the almanac) and I can test it here? I will give you an FTP log in to send it to my server.

I'll check out your steps first, then see if I can assemble what you need. Let me back up just a hair and inquire/affirm just where you want the league files generated and if that then is the directory to target to draw the information from. You may want to review those steps so I can check my compliance.
In addition, I'll search and see if lateams is anywhere on my drive and re-direct either the league file generation or its location and see if that solves the problem. Thanks in any case.

Lateams should be located in the RETIRED PLAYERS folder under the generated league files folder. That folder can be anywhere, just as long as my program knows it is there. The missing file should be in the installation folder.

In short, review with me what locations should be in the Browse, Select League, and League Site boxes as goes targets. Thanks.
