As of right now, this is what the next few years look like:

1948 - 7
1949 - 3
1950 - 2
1951 - 6
1952 - 1
1953 - 2
1954 - 0
1955 - 1
1956 - 3
1957 - 3
1958 - 3

Those #'s have nothing to do with the overall quality of those drafts, but just the # of ancestors who appear in each. The more ancestors there are, the more their quality drops the deeper I go that year. Also, I've noticed that as the years get closer, these #'s sometimes rise as a few new ones get added in hopes of getting them in quicker.

Our biggest years were the mid-20's to now, by far. It also picks up again in the mid/late 60's.

Makes sense. Most of us were born in the 70's or 80's. Go back one generation for our fathers to the late 50's, early 60's. Our grandparents were in the 20's and 30's.

I swear that every time I see this thread on the front page with Mets listed as the most recent poster, I can't resist the temptation to click on it to see if he added another half dozen ancerstors.

BTW - it was nice to see The Schnozz comeback last year and play well. I hate to think those four years in the service are going to keep him from having a HOF career, but it looks like it. I don't know if he has enough time left to boost up his bottom line numbers. :/

Maybe we should make him a coach or something... or shrink down his age... Hard to imagine a 38-yr-old rookie. Plenty of RL managers who never played in the big leagues.

One of my Drill Sergeant was EXACTLY like Damon Wayans in the movie Major Payne...I hide when that movie is on USA

and if no one cares...I'll take John Harrington on the Phillies...I already have 41 yr old Elmer Finch hanging it up...might as well fill him with another old...30 IP AARP member....but he NEEDS to be in Matt...she wants updates...lmao

My Dad keeps telling her his granpa is #2 on the Walks list and he is disappointed I haven't traded for his Dad..."I was like, Dad...Lonny Arrendale is a fan favorite, they already gave me a snicker when I put him on the trade block...I can't...hahaha"

I was wondering what was running through your head that day. I doubt the trade would have went through though, I doubt the Pirates or Dodgers woudl have liked that too much

Sorry, creed. I had you beat before you ever showed up. I think I have 35 or so ancestors (including Roy Hobbs and Sidd Finch, of course)
