Bout 405 - Ray Mercer versus Greg Page

Round 9 Commentary

It's Round 9 of this scheduled 12 rounder.
That combination from Page has some power behind it!
Those shots all landed square and Mercer felt them, he's in a world of hurt!
It looks like Page has reopened Ray Mercer's previous wound because Ray Mercer is now bleeding once again.
Blood is dripping down Mercer's face once again, as the cut on his eyelid has been reopened.
That wound is going to continue to be a problem for as long as this fight lasts.
It's not that he's bleeding all that badly but the location of the cut - over the eye - makes it a bit more serious.
And talk about timing, the referee has stepped in and momentarily stopped the fight.
He's looking at the cut above Mercer's eye and is now leading him toward the ringside physician.
Referee Moret steps in and stops the fight. This one is over!
Mercer is unable to continue due to the severity of the cut over his eye. Page gets the TKO victory!

Dean Stone has the call...

Ladies and Gentlemen!

The Referee has stopped the bout with 0:19 gone in Round 9. Your winner … Greg Page!

Greg Page - Record: 7-5-0 (3) & Ray Mercer - Record: 2-10-0
