OK, I know it's the green monster and all, but Milledge is just a train wreck out there.

Swept in Boston. Still 11 games up, and it did help put the Yankees down a bit, but it would have been nice to get at least one win and ride it into the subway series.

I know the radio heads around here will be flipping out about this series, but at the end of the day the Mets simply had a poor stretch against a red-hot team that was already very good to begin with.
I think the one worry is that the Mets get complacent, assuming they maintain this double-digit lead. It's very hard to just turn on the switch come playoff time I think. These 3 games against Boston were showcase games...not important in the grand scheme of things but important because it was a series against a prime team. They didn't just lose, but they looked terrible doing so. That they didn't put forth a better performance, regardless of the outcome, disappoints me. Hopefully they wake up and play well this weekend in the House That Drunks Built. GH |

I'm not sweating this. The mets were the only team left that hadn't lost 3 straight.
The Sox were a buzzsaw and the Mets got smoked. Put it behind them and take 2 of 3 from the Yanks. |

Randy Johnson...the cure for what ails ya. Mets win 8-3, all 8 charged to Johnson. Trachsel gives up 2 over 7, in painfully slow fashion. Reyes, LoDuca and Wright lead the charge.
Soler vs Jaret Wright in the rubbermatch tomorrow. GH |

Ten years from now, I wonder which Mets infielder will be putting the finishing touches to his HOF resume, David Wright or Jose Reyes?
'Course, it could be both.

dola,
Jose Valentin hasn't hit this well in five years. Hadn't played an inning at second base in TWELVE years. Whoever made that call deserves a raise.

If the Mets lose this game because of Valentin/Nady's baserunning blunder, my head may explode!

With all this talk on Milledge in a deal for Dontrelle, I'm curious...would you put Milledge in a deal that would bring back Kazmir?
