19th Charlton 18th Watford 17th Spurs Isn't an hot start it's playing really poor teams, same as Portsmouth everyone keeps going about how great they are, these are their wins and where that team is. 10th Blackburn 12th Man City 16th Middlesborough 14th Wigan 19th Charlton And the two of the three highest rated teams they played were Blackburn and Wigan and those games were at home. |

A full set of European fixtures this past weekend and hardly a word said about it, Reading & Watford get shock results, Sheffield United look like their going to be the Sunderland of this season.
Spurs slump continues, why do managers have a good season then feel the need to change the team the following season, hope Mr Chimbonda is loving life at a big team West Hams slump also continues, looks like Mr Tevez & Mascherano haven't brought the talent that the hype said it would. Champions League coming up this week, can't really see any of the British teams losing. Arsenal should be too good for Porto, Man Utd although to me not playing great should have enough to at least draw if not win in Benfica, Celtic at home should take Copenhagen as Paradise will be bouncing as is the case for any game but more so for a European game. And Chelsea should be to strong for Levski Sofia as should Liverpool at home against Galatasaray. If I could have a ticket for any game I'd be split between Celtic v Copenhagen, Inter v Bayern or Bordeaux v PSV. Should be a good game and great atmosphere at Celtic, Inter and Bayern on paper is a good game but two top teams playing each other usually means a dull game, the Bordeaux game looks a good one on paper and should be a decent atmosphere but I'd plump for the Celtic game. Talking of Celtic, not a word on this forum about the Celtic v Rangers game which is probably the biggest derby in football, I know other local derbies will stake claim to it but honestly I have yet to meet anyone who as been to various derbies to say that the Old Firm derby isn't the best they have seen. Nicholas Millan made his debut this weekend in the Chilean top division for Colo Colo against Santiago Wanderers, may not register as a big story but he is only 14 years old. And lastly Paul Scharner of Wigan could be banned for 4 games because he retired from international football on the grounds the Austrian FA are idiots, Austria want him to play and if he refuses then he could face a ban which to me is totally stupid as 1) You shouldn't be forced to play for your country and 2) It proves the Austrian FA are idiots if they think he's going to bust a gut playing for them, be like playing against 10 men. |
