jaybird is right.
This is a graphics forum and should consist mainly of graphics. An occasion digression off-topic is permitted or at least graciously not enforced by TC Dale, the Forum Global Moderator... TC is an excellent forum moderator and a very fine person, too, who uses common sense to enforce the forum rules. CD, from now on, I plan to only post graphics here and keep the personal comments few and far between... I will keep my non-graphics comments to a minimum... I will be brief and keep it very simple... using just a minimal amount of words. I hope you will do the same. When you get off-topic, I will post it here and ask you to get back on-topic. That is, keep the subject to OOTP graphics. I will contact you by private message to discuss off-topic and personal life messages. |

I can understand jbird669's position at least a little bit here, although I'm not necessarily in total agreement with it, to at least some degree here, I think. He is definitely right, to at least a considerable degree, in what he's saying here, but still not totally, I think. But you are also right in that we are close friends and all, and that we both talk periodically about our respective lives, EC. I can't tell you what to do, of course, but for me, I'll at least try to focus better on graphics-related matters in this thread, at least, than I have evidently been able to do of late for various reasons.
Honorable Khephren, the thread post you referenced was one in which I was trying to get comments to be sufficiently back on topic for at that time, with it being one of MY own started threads, not anyone else's. In that particular case, I was trying to reasonably police MY own personal request thread that I'd started just a little while before. While I do understand your apparent point of view here, as well as jbird669 and other people's apparent views, to at least some degree, is it not normally the primary responsibility of those who create certain threads to try to police them and keep them reasonably on-topic, if and whenever possible and appropriate, so that the moderators around here might not necessarily have to do so themselves? And that is what I was trying to do at that time, although I didn't necessarily disagree with any of the other commentary posted in the thread, or at least not much of it, if any of it at all, it seems to me. EC, unfortunately, I don't have much room at the moment in my mailbox for private messages, for various reasons. I'm at 117 messages of a maximum 120, at the moment, for it, both from the inbox portion and the sent portion, it seems. I'll try to clear some space in it soon, but I'd really appreciate it if the maximum limit of messages that can be in a person's inbox here at one time could be raised to at least 150, from the current 120, if not to an unlimited number of messages in such mailboxes for people here. However, I suppose due to the number of members posting here on a fairly regular basis, their message board servers may not yet have the ability for that sort of thing to be allowed for everyone here, if they ever will. You do what you feel you need to do, EC, and I'll try to stick more to graphics-related matters than I have of late in this thread, even though I and my family are likely to be going through some very hard times very soon, if they aren't already. Thanks for your prayers and all, and they are very much appreciated here by me, at least, if not others as well around me, I'm sure. CD out.

CD, just a suggestion.
I don't use the private messages to store long-term information. I store it on a thumb drive or external hard drive or both. Why don't you go through your private messages and delete the ones that are not essential or store the messages on a thumb drive or external hard drive?. I just use private message to discuss subjects that are private in nature and should not be on the OOTP Forum. I use it for personal and private communications. I delete private messages that are out-of-date and no longer of any use. Try it. I think you would open up a lot of space for your private messages. With AS, I often forget things, so that's probably one reason I often hold onto things at times when I should likely discard them, both online and off, EC. And I often have troubles, it seems, with figuring just what things still might be essential to keep and what not to keep, both online and offline. Also, am not sure if I have an available thumb drive at the moment, either.
Unfortunately, AS also means I often forget where I put things, both online and offline. Or what I may name certain files and/or folders on my computer, as well. Among other things that I have trouble dealing with in my life because of my AS. However, I typically see that sort of thing as just another thing to overcome with God's help, and if and when that happens, things will eventually be much better off for me in the future. I suppose part of that inability to get rid of things that may no longer be needed or useful comes from the fact that for most, if not all, of my life, we haven't been very well-off, financially, in comparison to many others in this world. Yet God has provided for us all, just the same. Big changes are already underway, as evidenced by my Dad being in a care center already for several months, but not yet a year, it seems. And more are coming, with Mom's very poor health at this point in time. It is very likely that she may have to go to a care center herself in the future, and probably sooner than we might like. Which then will mean I'll have to relocate somewhere else not long after, if not immediately thereafter, no doubt, of course. I still know that God will look out for me and provide for me, though, in any case, for sure. I'll try to get back to providing graphics here soon, whether of my own creation or AI-created ones, but that may still not happen for a while yet at this time, it seems, folks. In the meantime, everyone, you might best be served by asking for help from other people here, while I'm still basically low in terms of currently-flowing creative juices, so to speak, at least graphics-wise. When I think I've got them back well enough here, at least at a particular time, I'll certainly show it by posting a good deal more graphics here as soon and as best as I can, for sure. Thank you for your time and advice and all, EC. I may not always agree with it and heed it, of course, at times, but it is still always appreciated, in any case, most definitely. Hope you have a great day. CD out.

And to get back on-topic, which is our beloved and revered OOTP GRAPHICS.
CD, if you would like, give me the names of the teams you need logos, jerseys and caps for and I will make you them for you. As you know they are just average graphics works at best. I see no one has done the Cleveland Cheetahs for you and a few others. Tell me the ones you need. |

Very well, EC. Let's try to get back to graphics here. Even if I'm evidently very low on creative juices, so to speak, at the current time, for various reasons. I will list where you can find information on certain teams I need from this thread, by team, or graphics related to them, even if done by AI, if I've posted either.
Tampa Bay Rogues: Page 197, posts 3935 & 3936 Page 199, post 3975 Page 200, post 3999 Cincinnati Cheetahs: Page 200, posts 3992 & 3999 Chicago Mobsters: Page 199, posts 3972 Page 200, post 3999 Chicago Butchers: Page 199, posts 3976 & 3977 Harrisburg Keystones: Page 201, posts 4005 & 4006 & 4017 Also could use a large logo and a small logo for the Liberty and Freedom League mostly in red & white & blue, preferably with no dates on them. Prefer non-circular and non-square ones of course. Remember I normally use the OOTP Classic Skin in my games, so please create accordingly, if you like. Of course, you are welcome to make versions of the logos that might look good on other skins, you know. And two logos, one big and one small, for the Gentlemen's League, using any colors you feel appropriate to use, also with no dates on them. Same preferences as with the LAFL here, for sure, of course. I have a Cheetahs-related request thread that hasn't really been posted in as of yet, if it will be later on, unfortunately. Hopefully, someone will comment in it soon, of course, and be able to help me out there better somehow. May also need some other logo help from you or others sometime later, at least, if not uniforms and/or caps-related help for certain teams I haven't been able to find suitable logos for yet, or make yet. But I'll let you know later, if I'm not able to make them or find them in the next week or so. Right now, things are very unsettled in certain ways, considering recent and likely near-future events. CD out.

CD, just post the colors you want for each team here on this page.
I don't want to have go from page-to-page to find the colors. Just give me the colors for each team and each logo. List the team name and the league name and give the general colors you want... don't get specific on the colors... just red, blue, white, black, orange, green, purple, maroon, light green, dark green, dark red... don't get into the various shades of each color.. I can only do circular logos. Give me time to do these. I will work on them occasionally until I get them done.... let me know if anyone does one for you so I don't create something you already have. |

Folks, this is what I'd best envision the following teams having for their main colors and/or looks, at least in brief, if possible:
Chicago Mobsters (Black, white, brown, and navy, preferably with main influence coming from the Chicago Hitmen football team) Chicago Butchers (Black, white, light blue, navy, and bright red, preferably with main influence coming from Chicago Bulls, secondary influence coming from Chicago Stockyarders, and tertiary influence coming from Rockford Ice Hogs) Cincinnati Cheetahs (Black, medium tan, bright orange, and light gray, preferably with main influence coming from Cincinnati Bengals, with spots instead of stripes, if possible, of course) Tampa Bay Rogues (Black, bright orange, green, yellow, dark red, and silver, preferably with main influence coming from Tampa Bay Rowdies soccer team, and possibly secondary influence coming from Tampa Bay Buccaneers) Those teams are part of my current WLAB dynasty, I believe. While the following teams are for my Total Baseball Scramble 001 dynasty, it seems: Harrisburg Keystones (Places where graphics for them I've made have already been posted above, it seems, at least in terms of the relevant page of this thread) Helena Millionaires (Black, silver, green, and gold, and featuring a stylish-looking suited banker with money perhaps holding a bat or something might work well here?) Lakewood Blue Crabs (Mostly dark blue & light blue hermit crab with red eyes holding a baseball, and probably placed mainly on a tan background or something might work well here) Yuma Heatwave (Teal, bright orange, and dark red, while perhaps featuring a stylized masculine outlaw heatwave of some colorful sort in a desert-like setting might be interesting to see here, if possible?) That's enough for now, perhaps, I think, folks. Please feel free to use these suggestions or not, as you like and can, or create items for them as you wish, instead. I prefer non-circular and non-square logos, if and whenever possible, in the usual two sizes, but I certainly will use any sufficiently good-quality items that I ultimately like well enough here. Thank you all for your time and attention and all here, then. CD out. P.S. All items most definitely must be fully compatible with OOTP 22 and any preceding versions of OOTP that I now have available to me here, at least, at this particular time. I haven't yet downloaded and/or installed later versions of it, for various reasons, but I plan to soon, if at all possible, once I have a better chance and enough time to do so here well enough, Lord willing and all. CD out.

If anyone wants to tackle any of the above teams, please feel free to take whatever time you may each possibly want or need to do so here well enough, of course. I do hope, however, that I can have good sets done for all of these teams by sometime in July, at the latest, if possible, in any case. Thank you very much for your time and attention and all here, then, everyone. CD out.

EC, go to your IPA's league settings section. Then click on the Players tab. Look for the Fictional Player Settings. Set the desired ages for created players you want, in terms of minimum and maximum ages for fictional created players. Then set your other relevant details on that page as you see fit, if and when you want.
Also go to the Rules tab, and check those settings as well. If you want, you can set minimum and maximum age limits for players on each team's active roster, for instance, as well here. And you can adjust certain other details mentioned on that screen as well, if and when you like and can as well. The Options tab may be worth checking out here too, just to make sure that your IPA league is actually using the desired schedule at all times, et cetera, I'm sure. Or using the desired award names for it, for instance, as well, come to think of it. While I'm still not running OOTP 23 or 24, at least, yet, of course, but am still only up to OOTP 22 at the moment, perhaps some of these suggestions here might still help you somehow get enough younger players for your drafts or free agent pools whenever they come into your game automatically. OF course, you can always go to the free agent page and have the game create fictional players automatically as you wish it to, in the normal ways, for sure, if you want and all. Will talk much more with you later as time permits and all, Lord willing and all, I'm sure, then. I hope that you are doing and feeling quite well and all here, by the way. In the meantime, I plan to seriously check out the brand-new KJV Bible from Holman that my remaining brother recently bought for me that just arrived where I'm living now, and literally devour it as best as I can, in a manner of speaking, just as soon as I can and all. I really needed another KJV Bible, simply because at least one, if not more than one, of my current KJV Bibles is really old and starting to wear out or split or something, it seems to me. CD out.

EC, if you want more views for your IPA dynasty thread on an average day, you may have to report more extensively on your IPA thread. I know you may not want to any longer, for various reasons, but when you did, I think your daily views were much more common from your readers than they are on an average day or when you were having trouble with your playoffs for the IPA, for instance. I could be wrong about that here, to at least some degree here, of course, but I still think that a lot of people around here might generally prefer much more extensive coverage, when possible, for certain dynasties on this board, and yours may be among those that is the case for on these boards. Just a thought here, that's all. Please feel free to take it as you will or not, in any case. CD out.

The more in-depth you go with your reporting, during a typical season, the more views you've generally received for your dynasties, I believe. But if you're cutting back the detailed reporting from what you used to have, that would possibly explain why you might not be getting so many views nowadays on an average day, at least in part, if not totally. IF you can't do that anymore, for various reasons, then that's something that can't be helped, in terms of readership of your dynasty-related thread or threads, EC, it seems to me.
But as always, the choice on how in-depth one wants to get with their dynasty reports is up to each member who posts them on these message boards here, of course, for sure. Including both of us, where and when possible and appropriate and all, you know. However, people only have a limited amount of time to do whatever they might do in their lives, either for good or for evil, in any case. Many don't use their time properly or efficiently, unfortunately, though. And nobody knows just how much time they have left, normally, before they will eventually leave this world behind. Besides, there's more to life than just playing baseball games, for instance, as we all know quite well by now, i hope. Much more, in fact. As for me, I can't wait to delve even further into my new Bible than I already have, personally. And perhaps even do a bit more writing, at least, in the very near future, whether for my personal stories or my dynasty reports, if and whenever possible, for that matter. I'm still waiting as patiently as possible to see if anyone else will tackle the teams that presently need at least some items likely made for them sometime in the very near future, if they're not already made here and all, as well. I really do hope to see at least some of them around here soon, and especially by the end of June at the very latest, if at all possible. CD out.

Yep, lack of depth will hurt views.
Even the good dynasties get stale after a while. I just no longer have the desire to spend hours and hours on the IPA. I am going to quickly cover each season, but not in depth. I no longer play out each playoff game. It just takes to long to do a season. The strongest point of the IPA is the fact that it has been on so long... not many dynasties last 16 and a half years... it started in December, 2007. I am a fairly good writer and the IPA is presented well visually. I wish my writing was more interesting with more storylines about the teams, players and owners. But that take way too much time and more writing skills than I have... It is just not possible. I wish my IPA had more humor in it. My favorite dynasties are the ones done with humor like my beloved Laseron Baseball Association and Westheim's Portland Raccoons. I loved the Metro League by DreamTeams with its wonderful graphics and wonderful website. It is not active at the moment. I think you can still see his website. https://www.cjohnsonphoto.com/metros/metros.html I also loved reds1's United League of Rraeland... it was brilliantly done when he first began it... When Babe Ruth and the young prince (later King of Braeland) were major features in the storyline. reds1 also has excellent graphics, posts often and is fine writer. StLee is a brillaintly creative writer... His Fallout 4 Dynasty is well done with fine graphics. Jiggs McGee and his Figment Dynasty is really special with its great storyline and graphics... it is a brilliant concept and marvelously written. One of the strongest points of the IPA is its graphics... I think they look pretty good... and they should... they were done by the best graphics guys. My views doubled when I started using custom graphics rather than the dull and droll game-created graphics. As it is the IPA is just simply a "stats dump"... just a dynasty filled with statistics... luckily, lots of folks have liked it... and many of them still follow it. I've had four 400-view days in recent weeks... currently the average is about 150 views per day. It was few as 24 views back during the 7-month down period when I couldn't play the game and report on it. That down period really hurt the IPA. Maybe it can come back with regular updates... it has come back pretty good. I still plan to try and reach 100 seasons. Last edited by Eugene Church; 06-01-2024 at 01:25 PM. |
