Won't load "New Standard Game"

Trying to do the seemingly simplest thing possible, start a new standard game. Every time on this machine OOTP 16 stops responding at the "OSA Scout Players" stage.

I've tried uninstalling the game and reinstalling it, deleting the save filed it creates as it goes through the process and nothing is working.

The game loads up fine on a relatively old laptop and a work PC, but on my gaming rig it's stuck at OSA Scouts Players.

This is the Steam version.

coefficient 0.5:
5M$ 2.5M$ 2.5M$
Yes, I have the coefficient set to 0.1. Changing the financial coefficient to 1.0 seems to make things make sense (in fact, any change to the financial coefficient causes drastically different financial outlooks) . I think this is a bug.

Here's a screenshot: Notice how the next years' salaries are too listed as too low (about 0.1 x the actual salary):

To Developers:

Given some of the very fixable bugs that have been reported so far this week (i.e. All Star Voting glitch with pitchers), do you think it's likely we'll see Patch 2 by the end of this week? (I am waiting to buy OOTP once these items are fixed).

Thank you. Can't wait to buy soon! Keep up the great work!

Extra pitches

My third-basemen just reached on an infield error. With him standing on first base, he is still at bat. The pitcher throws one pitch, a ball, and the next batter appears at bat.

The extra pitch is recorded in the game log. See the attachment.

Historical Start Players Face Gen all Caucasian ?

Whenever I start a historical league (90's +) all players generate Caucasian. For example Ken Griffey Jr. is a Caucasian , clearly he is not, and this goes for all African American, Asian, Hispanic players. everyone is Caucasian..... When I start a standard 2015 start and search a player for example , Frank Thomas, it shows him as African American. This shouldn't bother me as much as It does but it's impacting me in such a way that keeps me from wanting to play it in this state. Is this something that will be addressed in a patch? Am I alone in this glitch?

Thanks

This is the exact problem I have. (Also I am a forum n00b so feel free to correct me when I do something wrong.)

You need to download the historical facegen pack. It's in Add Ons Central.

I managed to get around the OSA Scouts Players problem.
I downloaded the game install from the OOTP site. Then I installed in the same directory as the Steam install. At that point the game thinks you don't own it, so right-click on the game from Steam menu, go to properties and Verify Integrity of Game Cache. It downloaded a small amount of data and then it worked. I dunno what other side effects this may have but I will report back if I encounter any.

Any ideas on what could cause this? Are there additional files I can delete that would scrub any potential left over item causing the issue over and over (in addition to deleting league)?
Still happening. Anyone else see this?

Testing out historical lineups and transactions with my 1991 replay, I ran across something a little strange. The Angels did not have the right lineup for that day!

April 20,1991

April 20, 1991 Minnesota Twins at California Angels Box Score and Play by Play | Baseball-Reference.com

Polonia, LF
Sojo, 2B
Joyner, 1B
Parrish, C
Parker, DH
Gaetti, 3B
Hill, SS
Gallagher, RF
Felix, CF

The historical_lineup.odb file seems to have the correct lineup as well:

polonlu01,7
sojolu01,4
joynewa01,3
parrila02,2
parkeda01,10
gaettga01,5
hilldo01,6
gallada01,9
felixju01,8

However, when I played the game out the lineup was:

Polonia, LF
Gallagher, CF
Joyner, 1B
Winfield, RF
Parrish, C
Gaetti, 3B
Parker, DH
Sojo, 2B
Schofield, SS

The Twins lineup was right for that day, but the Angels one was not. Weird.

After patch 1, some HOF write-ups are still running past the edges. I do love the idea of detailed writeups like that though. Just wish there was more room.

If the only option to make them fit is to shorten the writeups, I'd honestly rather deal with the fact that they go over a bit. I LOVE how they are detailed, in some cases even stating the player was a 1st rounder.

Maybe smaller font?

When in PBP, if you put a player in as, say, a pinch hitter for a pitcher, they get a "P" spot recorded in their fielding stats (albeit with 0s across the board of course). Same thing goes for if you place a player into your lineup at one position and then switch it to another immediately. Very minor cosmetic thing but a small annoyance when viewing fielding stats.

This is most common with double switches... unless there's a way to do it that I'm missing, besides placing the substitute position player into the pitcher slot, the reliever into the other slot, and then switching positions.

Two minor bugs (i think) that have existed in the game for several years, but i never thought to report them, until now - because one actually impacts gameplay.

Let's say you're simming a game while you're at work (who would dare on company time!) and you notice in inning 5 that your pitcher is throwing a No-No! Or a batter has 2 homers. And you want to jump in and play the remainder of the game to see if your pitcher throws the No-No or the batter hits 3 homers.

Once you enter the game, let's say you want to warm up a relief pitcher. No matter how long you warm him up - he will always show COLD. Now that the game is more realistic and will have pitchers "tiring" if you warm-up too long - this obviously impacts the game! Has anyone else noticed that? Is it fixable?

Second bug - small one - go to league history - go to PITCHER REGISTER - let's say i want to see who was on my roster the longest - i sort by years - and the sequencing is off. Anyone with more than 9 years of experience shows up between 2 & 1....instead of the top of the list. Batter Registry works properly - pitching does not. So i have umpteen pitchers between 9-2 years of service - and then 3 or 4 with 13, 12 etc years of service - who show up down at the bottom.

Two maybe minor bugs

Maybe these aren't even bugs, but

1) Simming through a standard league season, there is a 5 hit game almost every day.

2) A lot of game MVPs chosen from losing team. Even noticed that game 7 of an LCS had an MVP from a losing team.

On my game, when the announcer announces Take Me Out to the Ballgame for the 7th inning stretch, the music is not played after he announces it.

I'm guessing that both Felix and Hill were either tired or injured which caused them to use a different lineup.

All the SP and RP are repeated on the ballot for some reason. Very weird. I'm thinking instead of putting the 3 best SP/RP of each team, it put 3 of the #1 SP/RP on each team for some reason, because there's only one candidate for SP/RP for each team (though listed 3 times).
I also have experienced this problem. It makes manual voting for All-Star SPs and RPs impossible.

Just imported my game from 15 to 16. My game has lowered financials so my superstar salary is set to 700,000. I just went to my possible free agents and I have the following demands from three players: 450 million a year, 240 million a year and 130 million a year. There are three guys who are asking for a normal amount relative to my league, so this is not affecting every player.

This has caught my attention as the order from highest to lowest in this category are a little skewed...
