Yes, my California team will bring suckiness to a new level. But since we're on a 5 yr plan to win, we're not worried. And if necessary, we can quickly switch to Plan B (10 yr plan) or Plan C (15 yr plan). I just hope the league lasts long enough to see all my kids develop. Plus, I was experiminting with a new double-secret plan (which now that the draft is over I can reveal). I tried to pick up every 25 and under guy I could find in the hopes that they get talent bumps. I figure if you can expect on average say 1 out of 5 to get a favorable bump, why not get 50 and hope for 10?!? Besides, when other teams need depth, they'll know on team they can make inquiries of. I guess somewhere along the way I should have drafted decent players instead of just a bunch of young prospects.

Dang, I would have driven down to San Diego for the honor of you drinking my butt under the table. ChefJimi is going to be in Monterey and I've been tempted to drive up there to see him, but that's a 5 hr trek so I doubt I'll go.

EDIT - And another thing about California, I found out in another online league that success only makes people turn against you and whip out the h8erade, so now I can be the loveable loser.

Better strategy than mine. I drafted enough to field a pathetic ML team and that's about it. I currently have 3 players on my minors roster and I'm screwed. I have a get at least one winning season in the books in the existence of ABC plan. If I can accomplish that with my squad I'll be good. You should loan me like half of your team so I have some backups for injuries.

Next time I make a trip to San Diego, I'll let you know. We'll definitely have that drinking contest and I can tell everyone how you passed out after a few beers.

Sure thing, but we'll have to use something else than beer. I've never liked the stuff, but just about anything else is fine. But heck, I haven't had hardly any drinks in a couple of years (maybe a couple is all) so it probably won't take much effort on your part.

You can have Sid Bream or Eric Karros if you just take over their contracts.

I don't like beer either. Hard stuff works for me.
