I don't back-up my leagues, but I've lost some in the past that I really cared about. The problem for me is that, like jazzrack, I hate replaying stuff I've already played. So, unless I backed up every single game day, I wouldn't want to replay it anyway.

I figure a league crash simulates a league-ending strike by the players, even if it means no World Series. Sounds a little too much like real life, doesn't it?

Interestingly enough, that's exactly what I'm going to do. I've had an idea kicking around but never wanted to spend the time on it. Now with my heart not in my lost league, I spent the last couple days thinking about this new idea and I think I might have the makings of a great dynasty. Needs a few more days of work but keep your eyes peeled in the dynasty section - if you like to read dynaties, that is.

That's the real danger. However, most crashes I've had have come during the off-season or the pre-season. Something wacky happens or whatever. I also fiddle with the league a lot, and occasionally I'll accidentally have financials off at the end of the year and proceed to next season, which gets rid of the free agency period.

Therefore, I always backup at the end of every season.

I once lost a league 25+ years in, but it was losing one player that killed me - a pitcher in the league was 37 years old, had won 10 Cy Young awards, and was at 497 wins, and still going strong. He was going to get at least 520+ at the rate he was going...
