ok, im looking at the pitch_stats.csv file, and i sorted by IP and then by ER to see exactly where im at.
I have 747 records of players with 0 IP but have ER. now the pitch_stats.csv file has the players broken up into VS L, VS, R, HOME, AWAY, etc. with this info not being combined for totals, do i have to go thru all 747 records and change them??? |

me and another owner have been looing thru, he figured out where to edit, and we thought we found the player that was screwing things up.
It stopped again though. To be exact, it makes it through to Team Summary, Anaheim Angels, Positional Charts. Maybe there is more than 1 player? Or Something else? |

If you have MS ACCESS go into the pitching table and see if you have any players with 0 IP and ERS for the season, this will be the composite records for the season. Change the record there and then just run the create html pages..... When you find the player that fits this and the pages are run without problems then just remember the player that you edited. Go to the CSV file and just enter the .333 innings to ANY of his pitching lines in the pitcher game csv file.
I forgot that I do my editing in MSACCESS first then alter the correct player in the CSV files (the CSV files only need to be changed if you plan on creating pages for multiple season). If you create pages after every season then you do not need to change the CSV file. You can just edit the info in the pitching table in CATOBASE. The downside is that this take MSACCESS to do this.... Check one more thing - FIELDING records of players with no IP but have errors. This will cause the postional chart error. If this does not work can you send me a zipped copy of your CSV files or if you have ACCESS export your FIELDING, BATTING and PITCHING tables to a CSV file and zip them to me. Send me a PM and I will give you the email address to send them to..... This has me intrigued and if I had the files I am sure that I can fix this..... |

Looking at one set of records that were sent to me I found a weird occurance of something I have not come across before. Multiple records of a player were written to the CATOBASE database, one with the correct information and another with a 0 in the year field. For those having issues check this out and I believe that the fix would be to simply delete the records since there are correct records in the table also....
Let me know if this is the issue and if it did indeed clear up with a delete of the records and a rerun of the create html pages..... |

Well, I just looked through my Access tables for some Year 0 stuff, but didn't find anything. I'm not even really sure what I'm looking for in the pitching splits tables - it looks like there's a lot of IP 0 stuff there, but it can't all be a glitch - can it?

Editing the CSV files doesn't do a darn thing, and neither do more radical measures. I tried backing up the league, then deleting the one player with earned runs and less than an inning pitched (two-thirds of an inning), then deleting the 2008 database in Catobase, re-importing the stats, and re-exporting the html pages, and I got the same error in the same location. Very frustrating.

You actually need to edit the MDB tables in access. For the pitching records, winshares gets messed up if the pitcher had these two combined - 0 IP/ Greater than 0 ERS. The csv files are broken down into situational stats and have no bearing on the error that CATOBASE gets unless the players TOTAL stats are 0 IP with earned runs.....

Well, because of this problem I had to junk this league. It would be nice if later versions of Catobase were to fix this problem. :-/
