Rangers - a good core of solid young players who compete and want to win as a team and have shown they can be a winning team now, a great stadium somewhere with *real* summer weather, improved management with a good idea of what it takes to win and how they are going to accomplish winning (now without trying to outspend the opposition), a solid underdog's history...

White Sox.

Glory of World Series wins intermingled with the tragedy and stain of the Black Sox scandals.

The beauty of Frank Thomas playing his whole career there in an era where too many players change teams too often.

The angst of having the worst GM in all of baseball.

How do you enter?

With perfect love for the team and perfect trust that the front office will shoot it to hell.

But there's a kind of joy in the pain of it all... So close.. and yet so far away.

The Brewers - now with no Bud Selig association! Isn't that enough reason to give them support?

The Tigers really don't have much to offer. They're just my team.

Someday, they'll make the playoffs again, and if I don't die of shock, I'll be the happiest man alive.

On the bright side, they probably can't be as bad as they were in '03 for awhile yet.

Trumps us all.

But seriously, 13 straight divisional titles and counting? How can you knock consistency?

So, I guess the Yankees are your favorite AL team, then?

Seriously, though, all the other Yankees fans on this board seem to be afraid to poke their heads up on this issue, so I'll speak up for the Bronx Bombers. They consistently field a winning team, they're probably the team you'll have the easiest time following from overseas, since they're on TV the most, and even the most die-hard Red Sox fan will have to admit that the ongoing Steinbrenner soap operas make them one of the most interesting teams in the game every season.

I like a dead team. I would've promoted them (imo, were I coming from the outside and pick a team, I'd probably pick the Expos, but whatever), but, you know, they're dead.

Reds

First professional franchise ever and the only team that is guaranteed to have Opening Day at home every season.

They won in 1906 and 1917. Lost in 1919 and 1959.

This version of the Rangers really is fun to watch and root for, although they might not be on TV enough where you are.
