Great work guys. This was a tough decision, I really liked 2, 3 and 9. I narrowed it down to 2 & 3 and finally went with 2 because it represented the theme of the "Timberjacks" better. Tough choice though.

All great logos but I had to go with 11 simple reason I prefer the rounder logos rather than the box ones and also like the kind of cartoon quality of the man, bit like a minor league logo which i prefer over the major league logos.

I'd vote for #11, but it looks like cuss's. Naturally, voting for one of his logos would be totally unacceptable.

Congratulations to all participants...all of you are very talented and winners.
Thanks to LivnLegend for the concept and thanks to jnshmoo who has done a splendid job with the administration of the poll. And thanks to the guys on the city selection committee...who will be thanked after the project is complete...they are very knowledgeable, creative and great to work with. It is tough to pick between them. I had to get real nitpicky to choose one. I liked 2, 3, 6, 9, 10, 13. "beauty is in the eye of the beholder"...these are just my opinions...as I give my reasons for voting the way I did. 2 needs a lumberjack symbol...otherwise excellent. 3 is the best imo...colors...font...forest theme...bats for tree trucks and circle saw...very well tied in to timber and baseball theme. 6 needs brighter colors on "P" and lettering...otherwise excellent. 9 is almost excellent...really like the fence and the batter...fits "timber" (bat) and "jacks" (to jack out of the park_theme well...very unique and original. 10 is a beautiful logo...Rose is nice as it is associated with the city...but it is missing something that says "Timberjacks"...otherwise it would get an excellent rating. 13 is almost excellent...like the green color...ties in lumber/timber/forest...but is missing connection to "Timberjacks"...also the "E" has two little black marks that detract from it. 14 really say its all...is .excellent in design and color and theme...ties in timber industry and baseball (with bat)...however Portland maybe a little too small...don't think it will show up well enough on midsized game screens and main game scoreboard... My choice is 3. Last edited by Eugene Church; 01-19-2005 at 01:38 PM. |

That is some outstanding work! Not to say you graphics guys don't normally do fine work, but I am quite impressed by what the competition has produced. I hope these contests continue indefinitely with some sort of regularity. I usually am really picky about my leagues, but I can imagine making one from the teams names and logos here.

I went with number 11, and no, it's not my own.

Really some great contributions there. Congrats guys. Amazing talents. I literally have been coming back to this off and on all morning because I simply couldn't decide. #4 portrayed what I envisioned as the spirit of the team. But ... ultimately I gave way ever so slightly to #3 as it kept the theme of the timberland without paying direct homage to the power hitter (although "jacks" clearly fits) and I could see #4 clearly on a player's uniform. All of them deserve applause. Man....all of them are great.

Tough choices.
For me it came down to #1, #11, or #14. #1 won out because it appealed aesthetically to me the most out of the 3, though it was really close.

I take pride in being the first person to vote for #11 after #3 had already garnered double-digit votes.

might I suggest putting all the logos on an external webpage for the next one and a number beside each one for easier access?

I'm going to try posting them one at a time next time. If that gets too tedious, I'll try to come up with something else.

A composite jpg file for displaying all the logos at once was the first thing that popped into my mind. I created a template Photoshop file that'll hold up to 16 logos, but since the forums have a 100 KB limit per attached image I had to edit and crop it into two separate composites.

The only drawback is that I'll lose that +15 from every poll!
