Alot will argue that there is no such thing as a clutch hitter. I would not go that far but I will say that if you drop any decent hitter into the 4th spot in a good team he will hit his 100 RBI.
We are socialized to see 100 RBI and think wow...good hitter. You have to train yourself to look beyond that. Now I look at a guy and see 100 runs and think. Good player who is doing his job.
And players could steal second third and home...just no one does it anymore.
If you dropped Ty Cobb in front of a modern power hitting player then they would challenge Hack Wilsons record.
But you have these asshats who think it's cool to hit 15 hr and strike out 100 times instead of hit .280 and walk 75 times.

Neither is a great base stealer but wells seems to have a high success rate.
Wells has ALOT of GIDP. Three times as much in any given season.
It's a total toss up with me. I think I could take either one and be happy.
Not sure where you get Wilkerson making more outs. His OBP is much higher than Wells' OBP, therefore he makes less outs.
