Mets pitchers K'd 591 at home and 516 on the road in 2002.

Granted, this may be skewed because of more IP at home but I couldn't find IP totals.

I'd bet that most teams are like that, being that you don't pitch the 9th on the road if you lose (barring 9th inning comebacks/extra innings), and the Mets were a losing team.

I've heard of many batters complaining about the difficulty of seeing the ball in Shea before.

I have mixed feelings about the Pedro deal. He's better than anything the Mets have now, but I'm concerned that he may have a sharp decline, like so many others who have come to the Mets.

Interesting bit this morning...apparently the focus of the negotiation now is what will be included in the physical. Pedro's people want just strength testing and not an MRI.

If the Mets agree to that before a 4-year deal they're idiots.

If the Mets agree to that, they are real idiots. I would not sign Pedro before he goes thru more than just the MRI. Four years guaranteed for a guy that old without at least a MRI?

No way.

Trust me, I'm not. He'll take the MRI Wednesday and if he passes the conference will be set for Thursday.

MRI? Never

Maybe it's an imaginary MRI with an imaginary doctor at a imaginary hospital where most patients have imaginary injuries.

Just kidding of course. Do have this picture in your wallet? I'm pretty sure every new one comes with a Jim Palmer picture.
