Mitch and that damn 'hmm, never tried this slide step thing before' pitch. I am so tired of watching Carter jump around the field.

I am a Phillies fan too. Came to US in 1989 at the age 9. Then a few months later, someone was getting rid of his baseball cards and gave them to me, they weren't of notable value. It weas from those cards I first learned of baseball and all the stats. Watched my first baseball game in 1990. Since I was living in Philly by then, obviously I became a Phillies fan. Began to read up on all sorts of baseball history from the library. Found out the team's pathetic history but that was ok... Favorite players back then were Von Hayes and Wes Chamberlain.

1993 was an amazing year. Carter's homerun is a bad memory but the worst memory for me so far is when David Cone struck out 19 Phils on the last day of the season in 1991. Couldn't stand watching the whiffs. Currently Jimmy Rollins is my favorite player on the team. Although they have an average-at-best pitching staff, I still think they will make the playoffs this year.

Oh yeah, Mets fans, you are not winning the division nor are you making the playoffs. Why? Mo Vaughn is too fat to play baseball. He can't even run to first base in under one minute. He will hit his 20-30 homeruns but not much more production from him. Your SS can't hit a beach ball so that makes two players in the lineup. Pitching will be ok, more injuries will plague them yet again. Have fun watching them...

I was born in NJ in 1975, and I still remember my grandfather taking me to 10 or 12 games a year since I was 3 or 4 years old. Even though I've moved to New Orleans I manage to get to a couple of Phillies games a year in either Philadelphia or Houston. I always will be true to the Phillies (as well as the Eagles, Sixers, and Flyers)

Been a Phillies fan since the late 70's, early 80's. I grew up in a region where the nearest major leauge teams were 5hrs or more away. I started collecting baseball cards in late seventies, and for some reason just started picking up an interest in the Phillies. They had some good teams back then. Can't explain why I'm still a fan when you consider the last decade or so, but I just can't shake it. I guess I'm too loyal,,although they've really started to turn things around the last couple of years, so now may be a good time to be a Phillies fan.

Talking

Ok, this joke is for all Phillies fans. It should really be done in person because the body language makes it come off better, but oh well..

A Philles pitcher walks into the doctors office. He says, "Doc, I've got this problem with my arm and its starting to affect my performance on the mound!"
The Doc says, "Whats the problem?"
The Pitcher says, "Everytime I go like this, (Imagine joketeller doing a pitching motion), a party starts somewhere!"
The Doctor replied, "That seems very odd indeed. Let me run some tests, and I'll get back to you, Mitch."

Hehe, that was rather popular back in the early 90's... I wonder why?

Thumbs up

I am a newbie...trying to get OOTP4 but I have a firewall at work

Is there anyway I can find that file that shows me the proxy address? I remember I used to do it at my old job but I cant find it now so I can't purchase the game online

Anyways, I digress...I am a native New Yawker...and of course was a Yankees fan...I even played Little League using Oscar Gamble's squat stance...that was untol my Mom married my Step-Dad...a wonderful guy and I was an ass to him in the beggining...so after I got a concious....we slowly started to talk and he said he was a big Phillies fan...I then researched and we started bonding like that...

My fav all time team was teh Albany-Colonie Yankees though...used to be the Yanks AA team...I saw "Neon" Deoin there and Roberto Kelly...but my best memory when I went with my stepdad when I was 8 I saw Ron Guidry and Dave Righetti pitch the same day on rehab assignment!!!

And I saw game 7 of the WS in 1993...I was in Basic Training about to go to Somalia and the Drill Sergeant let me watch Joe Carter kill us
