I gotta give my props to Brian Wohldmann, Sam Stauder, Joe Cronin, Brian Marshall, Matt Skutley, Mark Cooley, Sean Torgerson, John Olson and all the other commishes I've been in leagues with over the past year and a half. They're all solid guys and do the best they can with their leagues.

Hands down best commish & league
EVER....gotta go with Dave of HFTC. Not only is the participation awesome because of the environment and atmosphere he's cultivated (there's always action on the boards every hour-not just during the sim days), he's also brought some 1 of a kind BOSI development to this league. I mean stuff like All-star voting moduals embedded into BOSI, a league finances page that calculates our specialized taxes etc in BOSI, and Draft histories etc. The list goes on and on...

Dave of HTFC is certainly a great commish. He does way beyond that extra mile to make the league as enjoyable as possible. I have been in a lot of leagues (90% of them failed) and the reason that most of them failed was because the commish did not truly realize how much time and effort went into maintaining the league. Best league by far that I have been involved in.
Martin King of Playball is another great commish. I have been blessed to be involved in leagues that have had some great commishes. Tie Conn was a very good commish. We had some problems but he was always willing to sit through the rants and raves to figure out exactly what was going on. Thomas Montalto of Action Packed Baseball league is slowly moving into the top tier of commishes. After a little bit of rough start it has flourished and he has done an amazingly job of keeping it going. Thanks Dave, Martin and Thomas for some great leagues. Art |

How about Cuss?
His idea of a players league has made a great experience for the community. He has commished GFBL with fair judgment all along. Too bad, he stepped down already but he's still an active member. Thanks also to dbacks for continuing the league tradition. Hands down to both of you.

Yes, Dave and the HFTC is the best OOTP experience I've had... makes it all worthwhile. And the website isn't oppressively fancy with do-dads - it's amazingly thorough while still being one of the most practical sites I've seen in the OOTP world, and really anywhere. BOSI, CATO, polls, BOSI voting modules, draft reports, league-wide player development reports since leage inception, almanacs, news articles, and a ton of other little things, and the amazing thing is that it is all easy to find. wow. and we have this thing on the page that lists all the owners who are online now... everytime i go to the page there are owners online, no matter what time. you're never alone in the HFTC!

Thanks to Legend and Weimer for mentioning me.
Now, for my props. Scott Fite runs the epitome of the perfect online baseball league in the USBA. Never have I seen a guy put so much into a league! What did he get for his efforts, you ask? The undying devotion of his owners to the point that no one ever leaves the damned league!! Great job, Legend! |

I have to give my commish Props. Daniel Stamey. He is probably the nicest guy i have had the opportunity to be in a league with. He knows what he is talking about, and knows exactly how to run a good a fun league. is one of his many http://www.christianbaseball.com/ANPA league.

No, but really, the two do a great job. Shannon and I often carry bantering about our teams, and I think this year it's gotten to be a race for second place. They're always there to listen to you and everything. Great, great commishes. |

I have to go with HTFC. Eventhough, this is a laid-back league, it's still the most competitive and active league I've been a part of. Dave is always on time, with any and all league activities. He takes our suggestions and makes them even better. I'm sure there are very few leagues that are ran by a top BOSI programmer. So far, HTFC is the only league, I've been in, that has used BOSI effectively. If he wanted, I'm sure Dave could program BOSI to run the sims for him and upload all the files at a specific time, so he could just sit back and do nothing.
I forgot to mention, on top of all this, he's also got a job and a family.

I recently ventured out of my little online world to join some other leagues. They are all great and contain great leadership. Among those, one does stand out, that is Raderick and his Home Plate Baseball League. He runs a great league and I recommend it to anyone looking for a new league. I will second the nod to Raderick (Cody) of HPBL. It is a great league and very well run.

I was going to mention the USBA and Scott...but I didn't want anyone to rush over to the league web site and see the sorry state of the once proud LA franchise!!!

If it were not for Cuss, and his idea for a players league, then we may not of seen the GFBL, the GBPA, the SEBL, the IPBL, the WBL, etc. |

Was also documented on this message board but a search failed to bring it up. Are 2001 posts still on this thing? It also might be documanted still on the AVW and FBBL yahoo groups. At the time, Jase was running an e-fed [roleplaying a wrestler http://www.efeduniverse.com/avw/ if it's still up] and bought OOTP 3. He decided to run a baseball league just like the wrestling one, and such was SEBL. It just never caught fire like e-wrestling simply because message boards were frowned upon in that circle and e-mail stored contracts... etc made it far too hard to source for GM's. While Cuss might be credited with the first successful board ran players league. He wasn't exactly the first guy with the idea. UBL is another players league that pops to mind that existed in 2001 and there was another little league players league that existed forever and a day ago. Still to this day, however, a lot of us e-wrestler are in SEBL in it's new form. We're big on writing, which is a large part of e-wrestling, which is why SEBL is a hotbed for members wriing media articles and stories about their players. We have a great set of writers and we probably have over 1000 articles written in four months. Steve-O Last edited by SWardle; 10-22-2004 at 09:32 PM. |
