I love that little extra piece of tail underneath the wordmark in LGO's version so I added to my own here:

I'm one lucky sonafagun...logos by Cuss16, nmleague and now Le Grande Orange...that LivnLegend likes...it don't get any better than this.
I really have a wonderfully difficult choice to make...probably will use one for the first 20 years of my league...LGO's circle...and when I get to a more modern era, use Cuss16's. As Cuss16 said, I am a traditionalist when it comes to logos, I like both city and nickname on them and large enough to be seen well on the OOTPB midsized screens. There is no one logo design that is right or wrong, that's just my preference. ukhotstove and I are in agreement, the LGO's circle logo is excellent...the SV is excellent, too. And Cuss16 is excellent. I have to thank all of them for great logos...and especially Cuss16...because he put together an absolute great basic design with the snake and lettering. Thanks, guys. You are right, Cuss16...that tail that LGO added really is a great plus...it made yours even better.
Can you resize it and post it here for download? Last edited by Eugene Church; 10-09-2004 at 08:17 PM. |

No Problem EC, glad to help. Here it is. I left out the place name since LGO has a great version of that up already and my version wouldn't look good minimized anyways. Besides this way others can use this logo for other cities as well. Enjoy.

Thanks for the compliments, guys. I'm glad you liked it. I'm quite pleased with it myself. Though if I wanted to nitpick I'd say the left side baseball stitching is off a little. It should curve to the left a bit more.
It's funny how one small detail can change things, but for me the one detail that really made the logo work was adding the second circular border. Originally it was just a black border around the "Sugar Valley" circle, but it just looked "flat" somehow that way. So I thought, well, try a second circle border. And when I did that in addition to some white space between the black and brown circular borders, it immediately gave the logo the "pop" I was looking for. But I couldn't have done any of it without Cuss' rattlesnake image to kick things off. Cuss, if you ever want to 'collaborate' so to speak on logos, let me know. It'd take me practically forever to do the kind of picture element like the rattler you did. If you created picture elements like that which I could then add the typographical elements, well, it would definitely allow me to have some really nice variety in logo designs. There are only so many ways you can adjust type before it becomes repetitive.
