Stats aren't the only thing that defines a football team. Last year, the Cowboys had, statistically, the number 1 defense. Do you think the Cowboys had the best defense last year?

When you're one game into the season not much else defines a team but the stats. Green Bay sure as hell didn't play like a top 3 team in week 1 if we're going by how well they looked on the field.

I think we interpreted the question a bit differently. Seems like you're looking at it from the standpoint of power rankings based on their game one performance. I was thinking more along the lines of who I thought were the three best teams in the league from a predictive standpoint (as in, choose three favorites to reach the Super Bowl). Using that way of answering the question, I'd rate Baltimore a lot higher than you would, as an example.

I guess we are looking at it differently. I'm not trying to insult you or bash your opinion in any way. Just said I found it funny and stated why. I know you're entitled to your opinion and I'm entitled to mine. I just don't think the Packers are a top 3 team in the NFL.

Nod, understood completely.

I'm ready to update my opinion now, anyway.

well new england i agree with but i dont think Denver should be up there or kc.
kc is probably the most overrated team in the nfl.
I wouldnt be surprised if they go 6-10. They will be lucky if they finish 8-8.
You can only depend on Dante Hall to win the game for you because your defense sucks so many times before the nfl catches on.
They made no changes except for the coach and its not the coach its the players.

Sure, I'm a little biased, but I honestly think the pieces are in place for the Vikings to win it all. The offense is there, they have, IMO, the best QB in the NFL, the best WR in the NFL, one of, if not the best offensive lines in the NFL, and great depth at RB.

Their defense sucked last year, but they made many improvements. They brouhgt in Ted Cottrell. They drafted Kenechi Udeze, who has the chance to be a real good pass rusher. Kevin Williams is a year older, and he is already creeping up on the list of best DL in the NFL. Last year their linebackers were slow and old. They replaced Biekert with EJ Henderson, and drafted DonTarrious Thomas, an OLB with sub 4.6 speed. Their secondary sucked last year, this year they have Antoine Winfield, a good cover corner and great tackler. Brian Williams is a year older and a year better. Chavous is one of the best safeties in the NFL.

Their offense is one of the top 2 in the NFL IMO, along with KC, and their defense will be just good enough, I think.

Actually, change my #3 to Indianapolis.

my top 3 going into the season is the same as it is now...

1-new england
2-minnesota
3-denver

i predicted minny vs denver in the bowl, lets see if that happens. the bronco's lost to a VERY good jaguars team who i picked along with Houston(sigh) as the 2 sleeper teams in the nfl this year.

Prediction: Pats 27, Cards 7
The Cards have no rushing game and the passing attack will struggle, the Pats D will continue to force turnovers.

2. Denver Broncos:
A very controversial number two team, but they beat another top team at home. Everyone knows the Broncos can win at home but will they be able to bring the same intensity to the road games? The game at Jacksonville will certainly be a good incator.

Prediction: Broncos 27, Jaguars 6
The Broncos will show they can play some defense too in this one. The Jags just don't have the firepower on offense to compete with Denver.

3. Minnesota Vikings:
Destroyed a Dallas Cowboy team that went 10-6 last year. They scored 35 points on the number one defense from last year, what more can you ask for? How about some defense, they let Testeverde throw for 350+ yards. This week they will meet the other NFC powerhouse, Philadelphia.

Prediction: Eagles 28, Vikings 24
I know what you're saying...Why aren't the Eagles ranked higher if they will be the Vikes? Homefield advantage is simply huge in the NFL, more so than any other sport and the Eagles capitalize at Lincoln Financial Stadium.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

I had the Donks down as going 9-7 this year at best. Maybe 8-8.
Forget about the playoffs.
