Quick question, was FaceGen used in making the players faces?

I'm willing to bet it was, right?

You'd lose, I think LL's and Killebrew's are all anonymous minor league and high school/college photos.

Some of the photos in "SkyDog's" fictional pack were clearly made with FaceGen but they are are not my creation. That was someone else who put in a lot of work on the files but whose name none of us will know unless he steps up and points it out.

Since you immediately attacked the person who asked on FOFC, and never answered the question...

Did you credit the photographers who took the photos you used in your facepack?

That's kinda where I was going with my sh*t stirirng FaceGen angle till my fun got ruined.

But - it was stated that the high school/college ball players pics were anonymous, so I'm willing to bet (fingers crossed I win this one!) that the photographer is anonymous too.

I attacked no one.
I did reply to that odd, irrelevant comment. Because you chose not to read it does not mean it did not happen.

Here was my reply:

I never claimed to take the photos myself. In my readme file I mentioned the photos were gathered from numerous team web site locations. I merely edited the photos (removed all team logos and identifying marks) and resized them to work in OOTP. I did not profit from the venture in any shape or form. I did not use them to compete with the minor league baseball operations they came from. No one outside the OOTP universe would ever be aware they even existed.

SkyDog then took my work, combined it with others, and released it as his own back to the OOTP community. I have nothing to lose by him doing this since I stood nothing to gain. I merely asked him to do the right thing which he chose not to do, over and over again. It seems cut and dry to me but apparently it seems obvious to SkyDog that you don't have to credit other people in the community for their work when you incorporate it into your own. We aren't talking about a few lines of online league rules here, we are talking about countless hours I spent over the past 2+ years that he took and used as his own, intentional or not.

Again, I sent him an earnest PM. If the guy is admirable as you seem to state by your backing of him, I hope he does the right thing.

See thats the thing with mods. Very rarely is something an original work. Most logos for instance incorporate art that is not originally created by the logo designer.

Still, if you are going to incorporate something into a package or modify someone else's work, its pretty easy to credit a person for the mod(s) they've made.

I dunno, that pretty much seems like the attack (note mine was posted before your followup)

You spend a significant amount of time at FOFC, and you consider that an attack?

I didn't mean to attack anyone with the statement. I apologize to the person(s) I offended.

LOL.. true.. I was saying more like "You didn't answer this.. and immediately discarded it as "Flawed Logic", but it makes a difference for some people on how they saw the issue

Honestly, as I said.. I appreciate the work that LL and DD and others do. I just disagree with their view that LL can say 'Thank you to the people whose photos I used to create this photo pack" and then complain when SD says "Thank you to the people whose photopacks I combined for this download."

But I think this will blow over and we will have less of

Finding out who took all the player photos would be time-consuming and difficult---perhaps impossible. A general thank you seems sufficient.

Crediting LL and the others who created the facepacks used in the compilation put together by SkyDog would be pitiful easy.

SkyDog comes off as the kind of passive-aggressive type you sometimes come across that makes you so angry, you'd like to choke the life out of them.

Just out of curiosity, how do you react to people who come into a tense situation when it's finally starting to cool off, and immediately tries to pour gasoline on it starting the flame war anew?

Just wondering.
