Titans - B

We pretty much got what we came for - a TE to replace Frank Wycheck and DL depth to replace Robaire Smith and Jevon Kearse.

With the cap hassles we have, it was said if the Titans chose a RB with their 1st or 2nd pick, that Eddie George should pack his bags, but instead we filled the depth issues, and still managed to get an underrated RB in Troy Fleming, who could be a steal if he manages to mature mentally as well as he has physically in his training and workout sessions.

I'm a little disappointed that the Titans didn't improve the OL more than they did, because keeping McNair healthy and at least at 95% is very important to a winning season next year. Ben Roethlisberger would have to tell us how good of an OG that Jacob Bell is (5th Round pick).

Overall, Ben Troupe and Travis Laboy should help immensely.

Eli---well, thats enough said. A 3rd Rounder this year plus a 1st and 5th rounder in what is supposed to be an incredibly weak draft next year is worth a franchise QB. Adios Kerry!

Broncos, I'd say, get a B- or so. I'm thrilled with the picks of DJ Williams and Tatum Bell, both of whom should be super-productive right out of the gate. Darius Watts is a good choice at WR and I can't help but enjoy the pick of a local boy in Colorado State's Bradlee Van Pelt at quarterback.

Awful because they traded their pick when they could have had Jackson.

But I'm sure Parcells knows what he's doing and drafted a back with just as much potential (maybe a little less) than Jackson had.

Hard to get a great grade when you don't have high picks, but when you can pick up the #1 RB with a late 1st rounder (even though it's a weak RB class), that's nice. It would have been nice to get a more solid player in the 3rd round instead of a risky "project." We have our home run hitters, we just need to fill some gaping holes. & we didn't draft any quarterbacks to play receiver this year!

Since I'm as true of an Eagles fan as they come, I know that Welbourn played guard and that they will be playing this tackle that they drafted at guard. Tra Thomas and Jon Runyan would be their tackles.

Or safety. Or any centers to play tackle, or any guards who were just backups in college in the fourth round...

Heck, from my perspective, they get an A+ just for avoiding doing anything undeniably stupid. The dumbest thing they're talking about now is converting Arlen Harris (5'10", 212) into a fullback.

I actually like the project in the third round. He sounds like a great fit for the defense, and he's got a chance to improve a lot. We needed a DE, and I didn't see anyone else I liked more available then.

Overall, B+ to A-.

They did an outstanding job of filling several key areas of need and doing so with quality talent. Most know about Hall and Jenkins but another pick that I like is DT Chad Lavalais(LSU). I think he'll have a huge impact from the start. Mora and company get the nod of approval.

I figured Giants fans would be happy with their draft, and yet most media (radio) I've heard has said they made a big mistake. The prevailing thought is that Manning won't be that much of an improvement (although some) over Collins and that the Giants should have addressed other needs.

Personally given past history, I wouldn't be surprised to see Manning go the way of Couch, Leaf and many of the other highly touted QBs that have been very average. Should be interesting to follow though. I was a fan of Archie in the 70's, I rooted for Peyton when he joined the Dolts, and probably I'll end up rooting for the guy though one part of me would like to see him fail after his spoiled brat attitude came to the surface.

ok Tim Couch hasn't done much, but how can you put Ryan Leaf even close to the same category as him? you can't even call Leaf average... he plain sucked.

who were those other quarterbacks that got drafted that year with McNabb and Couch... didn't the Bears take one? he didn't amount to much...

of the 3 top QB's that went this year, i think the guy that the Steelers took will end up being the best of the 3.

Well, consider the source (one station was the San Diego superstation with Hacksaw Reynolds). He felt that though Leaf was plainly below average, that it had to do more with poor WRs and even more so his pathetic offensive line. His feeling was that with just a little bit more time to throw, Leaf may have had a different career. To my amazement, he said that Eli Manning in San Diego with no time to throw would end up being just like Leaf.

My concern with Manning is throwing him into the fire so soon. Would have been a better situation if he had time to learn while Collins still took the snaps. The fear would be that his confidence could be shattered.

Leaf wasn't a bust. He had great intangibles.

He could had been on the same level as Clutch Gload and Mayor Glanville if San Diego had even an average O-Line though.

According to the NY papers, its Collins thats wants out. The Giants want to keep him around but he doesn't want to be the lame duck qb. They'll probably get Jeff Blake, he's usually the guy teams go to when they have a rookie qb who they dont wanna start at the get go but plan on starting at some point in the season.

the Giants wanted to keep him around, but at a rate substantially less than the $7 million he's contracted to earn this season. Kerry should have no problem getting close to that amount from a team that is in need of a good quarterback... maybe the Cowboys.

That's the same thing they mentioned on the radio here in LA yesterday (Collins wanting out). Either way, I still think Manning needs a vet in front of him to increase his chances.

If Collins was the starter this year, (I am against playing Eli right away) he'll have a huge year. He's gonna be playing for another job. Releasing him is probably the worst thing they could do. As a Giants fan, I'm not holding much hope for this season. With Collins, the Giants are a playoff team (if the D stays healthy). With Manning, we'll be lucky to make the playoffs. I hope I'm wrong.
