Don't know how I can convince you that I don't care, I feel confident in OOTPDevelopments to get the game out as soon as possible and when the game is ready for release. If that date is 2 weeks from now rather than tomorrow, I would rather it come out then. I can live with anxious buyers clogging up the forum, rather than it being clogged with bug reports and rants about them. I would rather the development team address these problems than me as a user address them if I had the game and found it unplayable or seriously flawed.

A few days or a couple weeks are a non-issue to me.

I'm not as anxious as I was for OOTP 5. I have MVP this year and a bunch of other games to hold me over until it comes out.

As long as it's released by my 25th birthday, honestly, I could care less. Of course I want to play it and put it through the paces, but I can wait. There are other things out there that keep me occupied in my time, like life.

Wow...to not believe someone over such a trite matter of a game release shows you to be petty and obsessive....seek counciling, you obviously need it....

ditto.

It'll come out when Markus feels it's ready. Next year, the approach might work out better if he just surprises everyone with it's release.

Hey, can we please limit the number of threads containing the same bickering? I'd just like it all in one place so that it doesn't overrun the interesting things that sometimes get posted.

jdbolick, i read your website. very interesting.

maybe you should spend less time waiting for OOTP6 and more time looking for a clue in that crack-addled gap you call a brain.

Doesn't bother me that it's not out. I haven't ordered it yet, and haven't decided when I will. I don't have baseball fever yet...surprised me I didn't get bit.

I guess I'm too caught up in football (TPF) and basketball (NCAA, TDCB, my own team that I coach) to really get into it. Unfortunately, my online league has taken a bit of a toll (not saying I've stopped doing it, but sims are late at night, when I'm very tired, so little website updates lately). But the owners are sympathetic, and know I'll bounce back.

I can honestly say that I don't really care when it comes out. I'll get my playtime out of it. I don't come on the forum and eagerly await a post by Markus saying it's posted. I only check over here about once every 2 to 3 days to check out the latest, other than that I stick to OT. I figure I'll find out soon enough there that it's been released and I'm already there and people aren't posting thread after thread there about "When will it be released"

I can wait for the game to come out. Actually even if it was out already I would still wait. I would read about some of the bugs that will most probably escape playtesting. Then wait for a patch or two until I get the general feel from the people playing that the game is more stable. Of course I also am preparing myself for what really will matter with this game. Sure the new features and the re-worked game engine will be wonderful. However I already feel that the things that matter to me most, will most likely not be addressed in this version. Such as more varied plays, more rare plays, better commentary, customised stat reports, more varied news stories, and more defensive and managerial options. These are the things that matters most to me as far as OOTP is concerned. Of course I have been saying this since OOTP3. Still I'll have to wait and see what has, and hasn't been done with this years version.

jdbolick:

One thing that I will agree with you on is that this thread is getting hijacked, and a discussion about the current trends in the UK, and trends in the USA is out of place in these boards.

I will say something, however, jdbolick.....simply visiting a country, and reading journalism and reports is not enough to make a qualified observance of another country and their current situations and problems. You have to have spent some amount of time here, and/or lived here. I've lived here all of my life, and I will say here quit clearly that there is amost NO anti-black feelings in Scotland. Scottish people just generally don't care.

Scottish people don't give a stuff about quite a lot of things, we're world famous for it in fact, and someone's colour isn't something that we're particularly concerned with.

Anyway, I'd be MORE than happy to have a discussion with you about this, as I find this kind of thing enlightning (yeah, I know....I'm a bit sad that way.......I loathe racism in all forms though, so tend to get a bit tetchy on the subject.), but this isn't the place for it..........maybe by PM, I dunno.

That isn't correct, I'm afraid. France had passed a law that banned all religous tokens in school, including crosses, crucifixes, skull-caps, and also Muslim head-scarfs. The problem is that Muslim girls could not go to school because of the religous conflict. This policy had NOTHING TO DO with immigrants, but rather the secularisation of schools. Indeed, its reckoned that in many areas it is Jewish children that will be affected most. The Dutch are not 'expelling' anyone, they are offering cash sums to those willing to depart - despicable, but not as bad as it seems.

As for why there are anti-immigration sentiments in Europe, much of that has to do with people from outside the country draining the nation's resources by gaining access to your social services without putting money into the system. That problem was even greater back when anyone within the Commonwealth could pass into Britain and demand benefits.

Nobody in the Commonwealth could pass into Britain - several million inhabitiants were brought on boats to solve our jobs crisis, promised the world and delivered nothing. Immigrants from colonies saved our country for economic disaster

Regarding your aside, xenophobia does not mean fear of everything foreign, just of some things foreign. You don't even deny the anti-immigrant movement in your country or others in Europe, and your papers testify to an increase in racist and anti-Semitic activities.

Anti-semetic activities? What? There is no history of anti-semitism in the UK as there is, for example, in the US. In my mind, the overall attitude towards non-whites has MASSIVELY IMPROVED in the last 20 years (bananas used to be thrown at black sportsman as recently as the 1980s) - but a few areas remain tense due to massive poverty problems. An increase in Scotland? Only in the poorest areas - the general populace has improved dramatically.
[/B]
My guess would be the British newspapers you read are the Daily Mail or the Daily Telegraph or some tabloid. You are repeating the fear-mongering about immigrants that they are, despite the fact that the UK needs immigrants more than immigrants need the UK.

I don't think that you have no right to talk about the UK, but I do think you've been misled by the newspapers. I presume you saw nothing on your visit that would encourage such a view?

This has gone off topic and should probably be continued in OT if needed.
