Why is OOTP 5 still on the front page? - Page 2

Additionally, someone who has OOTP5 but isn't a regular around here might go there looking to see if the new version is out, see that the OOTP5 logo is still up, and leave without knowing they can actually preorder OOTP6.

So I say...

Now that you can actually place an order for OOTP6, it should be more heavily promoted than 5.

If you go to ootpdevelopments.com , which is the home page, it is very clear that OOTP6 is about to be released. You are making your statements based on the OOTP5 specific page.

Google Search For 'Out Of The Park'

The first result is the Out Of the Park page. I think we're all just saying the webiste is a bit ambiguous at best. Of course, if they don't have a dedicated marketing/web team then I'd rather they just finish the game!!

They want people that haven't visited the forums or read the newsletter to still buy OOTP5, then in a week want them to buy OOTP6 instead of just waiting to buy OOTP6. If you saw on there that OOTP6 is coming out in a week, are you going to buy OOTP5 first or wait to buy OOTP6? Here we have 2 sales vs 1 sale. That's $19.95 for OOTP5 plus $34.95 for OOTP6 for a total of $54.90, as compared to $25.95 for OOTP6 pre-order. Double your profits this way!

Now, if OOTP6 won't be out for a while now, I can understand.

Some of these posts are just downright beyond what my little ole brain can handle ... if I took some of this stuff 'literally', I'd say there are inferences from poor marketing to trickery in making the sale ... whoa!!! What's next ... people finding subliminal messages in the PBP of OOTP6????? Geesh!!!

We truly have too much time on our hands ... let's go play some OOTP5 SEEING OOPT 6 ISN'T AVAILABLE FOR D/L!!!!

That would be pretty deceptive and wouldn't exactly make someone too likely to be a longtime customer, I think. It's pretty slimy.
