why wouldn't chat be in head to head? i see all sorts of basic uses - not just talking trash. ie, phone call coming in, hold on a couple of minutes, etc

Let me give you an example of something I am doing right now in another game, that should work the same in OOPT6.

I play the Links golf game, and have been playing it since it's inception back in the early 90's. I am in Oroville, CA, 60 mi north of Sacramento. I have a dear friend in Galveston, TX, and he and I have been playing each other H2H in this game for over ten years.

Two years ago, we both installed MSN Messenger, and began "chatting" with each other while we play our golf match. This "chat" is outside the game, and has nothing to do with the game itself. Last year we switched to Yahoo Messenger because we found, for our particular situation/connections, that Yahoo was a lot cleaner, far more stable connection, than was MSN. We play matches with players all over the world, and have never had any problems "chatting" while playing.

I would imagine that this same scenario will work for OOTP6. Two OOTP'ers hook up on Yahoo, or Messenger. Get the connection established, and make sure each can be heard by the other. When satisfied all is working, then launch OOTP6 H2H. You could even be "chatting" while the game is loading.

Of course, this whole post is based on the premise that the ability to chat will be a seperate entity, outside v6.

Got my fingers crossed!

Warren

Adding a chat program isn't that terribly hard. I'm in college now and in one of the mid-level CS classes you haveto essentially write a chat room program so I doubt its all that terribly hard for a pro like Markus and co to do. Also, as far as where to put it, one possibility would be if possible have a way on the PBP window to switch between the PBP and chatting. Or else simply add the chatting in that window although it wouldn't be as clean to read as having a seperate window for it. Just an idea

Hehehehehe. Personally I don't care if others can watch the game. But the last thing I want is to hear someone's mouth while i'm playing him. Just pitch the ball!
