Even though reese played in the 50's i always seem to think of the Pee Wee from "Porkys" when they mention Reese and that Pee Wee was short.

Darn, I wished I'd read page 2 before I spent twenty minutes thinking it was either Tommy Davis, Willy Davis or Davy Lopes, and trying to remember where they had played.

The only thing I would say is that you mention the Dodgers connection in the clues themselves - if you'd just said (perhaps) 2 AL and 4 NL teams (or something), or 3 west coast teams and 3 central sides, then that might have kept us guessing at the connection a little longer. Keep 'em coming, guys.

1) Known as the Golden Greek from my high school and college days, I fulfilled my childhood dream by playing for my hometown American League team. I had a decent rookie year, and was invited back to the club for a second, but unfortunately died halfway through a season in which I was on pace to hit .313 with 60 doubles. I am a prime example of a promising career cut short by tragedy.
2) I, too, had my best year cut in half, but not for reasons pertaining to injury. I only made one all star game, but remained a fairly decent pitcher for 14 seasons, spanning seven teams. Though I played on seven teams, I spent half in the AL and half in the NL—once I left the NL I did not return. I twice led the league in walks, and once in wins. My promising young team was broken up after my best season, and I never again reached the same level of personal success, though I was 2-1 in postseason play.
3) As a September call up a few years ago, I showed the world my potential with a 2.03 ERA in 11 games. When given a chance to start with a subpar team, I produced 22 wins against 21 defeats with a mediocre ERA. I am still young, but have yet to show off my potential again.

1) I had an eleven year career, playing all my games in the National League. I was a three-time All Star and twice finished in the top 10 in the MVP voting despite hitting less than 10 home runs and 100 RBI combined over those two seasons. I played in three World Series, with three different clubs, twice losing to the Yankees. It was me who inspired an often inaccurately remembered quote attributed to a baseball manager. One year I led my league in walks and in runs scored but it was not one of the years I finished in the top 10 of the MVP. I was once traded from a club so that a second-year player, a future Hall of Famer, could take over my position. Who am I?

2) I played in parts of 18 years, all but a handful of games in the American League. Although I never finished in the Top 10 in my league in home runs, runs scored, RBI, or batting average, I finished in the top 10 of the MVP voting twice. I had a reputation for being very solid defensively. I finished tops in fielding, putouts, double plays, and assists on more than one occasion and I still hold one MLB defensive record. I nearly came to blows with one of my teammates, a pitcher, but most people realized later that he had it coming. Who am I?

3) I was a six time All Star and I won 2 gold gloves over my 16 year career. I played for two different teams in the same state as well as the chief rival of one of those teams. I had no power, only hitting more than one home run in a season twice. I spent several years as part of an infield with one future Hall of Famer and another player who many thought should be. I once held an errorless streak record for my position, since broken. I was a switch hitter who batted a high of .274. Who am I?

Clearly I am making them too easy!

However, you made a mistake on Player 2. Fregosi did play 18 seasons but finished in the top ten in batting a couple times and never played in a World Series.
