Now read this carefully...The developer told you that there will not be a change.
The minimum resolution is not "pushing the bar". Let's move on |

Earl, drop some dimes on a new monitor. And everyone's right...NO ONE I KNOW uses your resolution.

If you own an Nivdia GI Force TI 4400 and can't take the two seconds it takes to switch the resolution, then you've got problems. I've never heard so much whining about nothing.
I have the same card and it takes THREE MOUSE CLICKS and literally five seconds to change the resolution. |

Or you could just make your desktop icons bigger and leave the computer at 1024*768.

Open Letter to the Developers
Please hear this guys. I decide to start a new thread here about I think is a very important issue and that is communication.
First and foremost, I didnt appreciate the comments that were made in my "anger" string, when all I was really asking for was help on my monitor/resolution issue. You guys are quick to judge..if it was your situation like mine then you would be irked. Yet some of you indicated that a few mouse clicks and then boom I fixed. Well then tell me step by step what I can do. I mentioned so many times...I have a high end computer but never did I have to adjust screen sizes and such. If I did want to change resolutions (some games offer you do do that within the game) it wouldnt effect my desktop or the rest of my computer. I wouldnt have to reboot my computer. That being said many have you suggested to make some adjustments. Well what are these adjustments, to my desktop and such. This game, and it is a good game, is not a game like Star Trek, Warcraft, EA games which demand alot of your system. These games you need the all the computer you can get but you dont have to manuever the game screen the play the game like this one. This is why next, I point to the developers of not informing your public that many of you would either have to come up with different monitors or adjust your monitors, computer settings accordingly to play this game. I took it for granted that the menu screens would fit perfectly within the confines of the screen like all the games that I own. I dont understand why a game like this could not be developed with another resolution or give you choices on what resolutions to use in the options of the game. This is not a bashing string here. This is a string to point out the fact, like many, we eagerly waited and waited for this game. You got to understand my immediate frustation and anger when I couldnt even keep the game within the confines of my screen. My anger now is changing over to just plain disapppoint. If someone really wants to help me, albeit the developers or other games on how to remedy the situation (not bash me with your b.s. remarks), that is great. I dont really want to return (unless I have no choice) the game because Jim and Tom and company have put alot into the game but if you cant see the screen well or your limited to playing on one resolution then something is wrong. I didnt have any problem with Title Bout 2001. I even play alot of sim based games like this (SOM, Cactus, etc) and I dont have to adjust their screens. So how come I need to do it with this? Anyway enough said. If someone wants to step forward and really, really help thanks. Again here is my specs: 15" inch CRT monitor 128 bit Nividia Geforce TI400 card 2.2. Pentium 4 cpu processor 750 Ram I can set my pixels to any setting but text, icons, etc become small at the higher resolutions. I use 16 or 32 bit color within my settings. Hope that gives you enough info about my computer. Personal note to Jim: Hope you get better and get some rest. |

Enough with this already. You're beating a dead horse here. Besides, your question has been answered several times already Quote:
Here you go: 1. Right click on your desktop, click on 'Properties' 2. Click on the 'Settings' Tab. 3. Use the slider to chage resolution from less to More. 4. Go Away and never post on this board again. Good Luck. |

"Please hear this guys. I decide to start a new thread here about I think is a very important issue and that is communication."
I have been on this forum ( even before my start date on the left under a different name)...and I have NEVER heard the developers or even the users of this forum talk about having this game on a specific resolution. "This is why next, I point to the developers of not informing your public that many of you would either have to come up with different monitors or adjust your monitors, computer settings accordingly to play this game. " You have to undestand this Earl....if a target audience is 10000 people and 9,999 are ok to run at any possible resolution and 1 person has an inferior monitor and keeps things at a lower res, they are going to develop and create for that 9999. I would find it hard to beleive that there is another single person in the situation!.....in fact if we all ran the game at the res you are running it, it would look awful on our machines Me personally I hope you get a new monitor or solution ( which I think you will be hard pressed to find)....because this game after the patches will be awesome. Lastly your approach to this is why I think people are jumping all over it. Your first post reads like you are whining and not trying to be proactive about your situation. Like I said...If I had an xtra monitor...Id ship it to you overnight! |

by the way, I run the game on my desktop computer with a 19' monitor at 1280x1024 and on my notebook computer with a 12' screen at 1024x760. So if you can't make it work on a 15' monitor, the problem isn't with the game -- it's with...................I think you know.

Earl,
I tried once to help - I'll try again, 'cause you're missing out big time with the games you own already, let alone if you walk away from TB because of this issue. It has to be your monitor. I run a flat panel at 1600X1200 on a graphics card that's not even as good as yours, and I never have to change or alter my resolution to play TB. It just works. If you get a new monitor you'll be able to set your system to 1024x768 or even higher, and ALL your games will look sooo much nicer...and you shouldn't have to change resolutions ever again ;-) So think about it. Some good might come out of all this if you change your mind set a little and treat yourself to the new monitor you know you really need anyhow ;-) George |

No, i see it as from a guy who loves boxing and is just so frustrated because he after waiting so long for this game cant play it. Earl having said that you will have to face the fact that they wont change it to suit you my friend. As you were told, that's pretty much the end of story right or wrong. Danny. |

In fairness to Earl i have to say this, as i see all so quick to jump at him, and him being battered and bruised like an old pro in his final fight.
Maybe if you was in his position after waiting so long for the game and then not being able to play it at 800 X 600 like you can most games, in spite of what i hear on this board, you to might feel a little peeved. So i can understand in a way how he feels. Also to be honest it really is not a graphic heavy game like most modern games are today. Earl i am a little puzzled why you find it such a drain to change your resolution to 1024 x 768. I can imagine on a 15ins screen though it really would look to small. To sum up Earl you really do need at the very least a 17" or better a 19" screen to get the best from any game today. Of course none of us know your financial situation and i agree it is none of our business. But if somehow you could go for a bigger monitor it would enhance any future games regardless of this one. Earl at the moment this is only the first version yes it is good, but when patched it will be a Classic so really try if you can to go for that bigger monitor. To miss out on this Game would be a real loss i promise you. I say that knowing you love Boxing. Cheers Danny
