I tell you, the Tigers bandwagon is very lonely right now. We are currently taking applications.
Except in the game I envisioned, bases were 91 feet apart to get rid of all of those bang-bang plays at first.

Is it just me?

Or have you guys actually liked them this whole time?
For karmatic reasons, the Cubs will definitely lose in the playoffs. The Cubs "insiders" have apparently been acting like the Yankees for the whole season - like they are this good every year. I've some friends in broadcasting that, with no sour apples, say the Cubs office, broadcast, et al. have been pompous condescending jackasses for the entire season.

That and that silly, silly Sammy Sosa cartoon leads me to the conclusion . . .

Here comes the karma bullet and 100 years of more suffering.

No bandwagon here

Hey, I havn't been around long, but the giant "Go Red Sox" on my apartment's sliding glass door should mean something. At least my neighborhood knows where I stand.

The Cubs are huge here in eastern Iowa since Chicago is about the closest Major League city to us. Some guy even spray painted his terrace with "Cubs Win!". Somehow, I didn't get caught up in that and have been a Yankees fan for many years.

Funny thing is, as long as you are talking about bandwagon, back around the All Star break AnotherAlias had a signature that read the “Cubs are officially done” (paraphrasing). What kind of punishment should we dole out to a “true” Cubs fan who believed so little in his team's chances, he announced that their season was over two months ago?

I say make him a Dodgers/Radiers fan, but Amnesty International would surely protest.

There are only two teams with which I have ever had any real emotional investment: Indiana Hoosiers basketball and the Cubs.
Yay, Cubs!

There is going to be a lot of bandwagon jumping when baseball's most pathetic franchises all make the playoffs in the same season (Giants, Cubs, Red Sox). What do they have, 230 years of futility between the three of them?

Plus you have to throw in the Braves. Everyone is hoping they win another world series.

Ummm, my signature in July said:

Baseball season's over for the Cubs AND Dodgers.

I was right on the money with one of those predictions, wasn't I?
So, I should only recieve half the punishment you're talking about.

I'm glad you are owning up to writing off the Cubs in July! Too bad the Dodgers did not make you really eat those words as well!

I'm a Mets fan, but their season is over now, so I find myself rooting for the Cubs and Red Sox because:

a - I like both of those teams because they play in my favorite 2 stadia, and

b - If they meet in the World Series, it will be one of the most interesting matchups in history.

I 'owned' up to it the other day in a post I made admitting the error of my ways.

Thing is, when I made that sig, the Cubs had just lost Corey Patterson, and they hadn't traded for Lofton, A. Ramirez or Randall Simon.

If Cubs' management had stood pat, and not made the deals they made, I would have been right.

I am rooting for the Cubs to win in the playoffs. That doesn't mean I am on their bandwagon. I would just like to see them win.

Thanks, ctorg. This bandwagon is pretty big. Maybe some other people will scrunch over and let you slide on up.

For all you bandwagoneers, are you still on? Gonna ride it through next season.

Or did you get thrown off?
