I'd love some variation of a customizable rotation selection.

Wishlist for OOTP 28.

This is a good idea for a request. Here's how I would want to work. I feel like this would be the most flexible.

I'd like to be able to schedule starters for future games. For example:
Sun: #1 Mon: #2 Tue: #3 Wed: (off day) Thu:#4 Fri: #1 Sat: #2
Sun: #3 Mon: #5 etc etc

See? In that example, I skip the #5 starter because of the off-day.

THEN, most importantly, I want to ensure that scheduled starters are unavailable for relief duty (i.e. considered to be in the rotation), if they have a start scheduled in the next 3 days. The assumption would be that no relief appearance would fatigue the pitcher so much that 3 days of rest wouldn't get him back to 100% for starting duties. This is for a 5-man rotation. It would be 2 days of rest for a 4-man rotation and 4 days of rest for a 6-man rotation.

So, in the situation above, the #4 starter would be available for relief on Monday (since he would have Tue/Wed/Thur to rest for his Friday start), and the #5 starter would be available for relief for Monday through Thursday. He would then be automatically moved back to the rotation on Friday to ensure he is properly rested for his Tuesday start.

If your #1 starter threw 80 pitches 5 days ago, and your #5 starter threw 20 pitches in relief for that same game, they are BOTH 100% rested, which presumably means either can be started without a fatigue penalty.

But the highest rested pitcher is still your #5 starter.
Two pitchers who are 100% rested do not have their ratings reduced because of lack of rest. Using pitches in the last five days to break ties of 100% is incorrect because a pitcher's rating doesn't go in excess of his maximum because of extra rest. Maybe, just maybe, it does in real fife but it does not in OOTP. Having the game function as if a real life situation were duplicated in the game when it's not is wrong.

What if you could add the starting pitcher to daily lineups, even if you leave the lineup blank? I used a similar feature in SOM many years ago. I was using a complicated six-man rotation, but in 5 spots, each turn through a different pitcher had his start skipped 1-2-3-4-5,6-2-3-4-5,1,6-3,4,5 etc.

I'm not saying what I think is correct or incorrect. I'm describing how the game seems to be working.

I've discovered that if a SP is REALLY worn out after his start, like the rest meter in the game went to deep red, he won't be fully rested after 3 days. That's a good feature.
