April is over!

The Dolls' next series is against the Garden City Cotton Tails, who are the second worst team in the entire league, with a record of 6 wins and 22 losses, picking up their 22nd on April 30th. There are still 2 games left in the series before the Dolls head to New York to take on the Knickerbockers, but here is how our month of April went.

Milford Old Dolls vs Garden City Cottontails May 1, 1837 - Anakin Skywalker injured

It's only a minor injury, not bad, he will be day-to-day for a day or two. The Dolls beat the Cottontails 11-1 today, with Dave Koslo picking up another win on the mound. One more game against Garden City tomorrow before the Dolls travel to New York.

May 2, 1837- END OF SERIES!

The dreadful Cottontails only continue to get worse, now 6-24 for the year, as they got beat in an embarrassing fashion by the Dolls. Now it's off to New York we go!

May 3-5, 1837 Series against the New York Knickerbockers

The Dolls won the first game against New York but lost the other two.

We were without a first base coach but we finally hired one, a man named Greg Cope. He is 53 years old and has an average reputation.

Other news from around the league: Lucas Stachowiak's hitting streak has now reached 25 games, Hobe Ferris' streak ended at 23 games, Raymond Barone reached a 20-game hitting streak then had it broken the next day.

May 6-8, 1837 series against the San Francisco Seals

The Dolls played a 3-game series against the Seals, who travelled east to Milford and lost all 3 games. They were blanked 20-0 in the first game, then got absolutely destroyed in the second game, by a score of 40-2, with most of the damage coming from Robert Smith and Dude Esterbrook. Smith had 4 home runs in the game alone. The Seals dropped the 3rd game 16-1, and used all their pitchers in each game. They currently sit in 5th place in the Goliath League, and now have a win/loss record of 10-26.

More news from around the league: Balki Bartokomous of Toronto's hit streak ends at 25, Lucas Stachowiak of Lynchburg had his 27-game streak ended by the New York Knickerbockers, Hobe Ferris of Worcester and Raymond Barone of Dalton also had their hitting streaks ended, and Tim Lincecum of the Dalton Freaks is expected to miss 4 weeks with an intercostal strain.

Pete Hill of the Garden City Cottontails has been voted the Playhouse League player of the week for his good performance.

May 9 is a day off but the Dolls will be in Toronto on the 10th for a 3-game series against the Noot-Noots.

May 10-12, 1837 Series against the Toronto Noot-Noots

Every game of the series was a 1-run decision. The Dolls won the first game 2-1, but lost the second and third games 2-3 and 1-2. They also ended Prince Frederick's hitting streak after 30 GAMES!
