I like to debate. Not argue. Debate is a fun past time for me. Arguing ruins my day. I think it should be clear that I don't mind contrary opinion to mine. What makes posting unenjoyable is someone putting me on their "list" then "following" me trying to stir something up.

Did I really need to put up a bunch of disclaimers as to what kind of celebrations I approve? Did I not say as long as the actions don't cause any harm, celebrating is OK? Did I need to say "celebrate as long as there is no vandalism, sexual assault, military coup, bribery, passing of germs, environmental damage, indecent exposure, hives, banjo playing, grave robbing, bad breath, farting, typos etc.............?"

C'mon. That is just searching for an online fight. Trying to find a button that will set me off. Ain't nobody got time for that.

Things are fine where they are as far as I'm concerned.

This is sports. With every bounce of the ball, every cross of the finish line, every point put on the board, there is going to be someone happy & someone who is not. Everyone knows that before they get on the field & or enter the arena. If there is any competitor that can't take someone being happy over their achievements they are in the wrong activity. They aren't for this.

It's not a debate. It's an argument. I'm not taking the bait. I post for enjoyment, not a headache. I really don't want to know what he has to say. I gave him respect & took him @ his word that he didn't want to engage & I felt the feeling was mutual. I'm fine maintaining the status quo.

I used to block folks at times but I abandoned the practice for two reasons:

1) Curiosity. Not about what they would be "saying about me behind my back" but what they were saying in general. This was especially true if they had made good points and had interesting things to say in the past.

2) I decided to never let anybody rile me up in these forums, ever again. Doing so compromised my enjoyment here and I simply will not let that happen, no matter what the provocation.

So you are right about the arguing. I don't argue. I state my case, you state yours, and we are done.

One thing I don't want to do at my stage of life is to waste time. Arguments often do that, especially when I find yourself repeating what I have already said.

Well, float your own boat, as they say. It's just unfortunate when this happens because there are not that many here in the forum in the first place.

I'm not going to claim I'm right & you're wrong. This is what I need for my peace. I don't suffer fools well. What you can see in some of the vids I post about good public servants is that I admire their patience w/some real idiots. I just don't have that. Once I discover someone is a moron, I'm taking action or taking my leave.
