This thread paid off today I think. I appreciate the insights. Especially the 20-80 scale. That definitely puts things in a different perspective than I had been viewing them

The range for relievers is an even smaller range with the best ranked no higher than 60 and most falling 40-45.
In a simulation game like OOTP reality should not be sacrificed for this type of user. Sure OOTP can't go into every minute detail of real life, but it should do as much as it can. This is not a concept that is hard to understand once it has been explained. This "change" in how OOTP rates players for Current is a good thing, and frankly was long overdue. Now if we could just get them to go back and fix the high potentials we have to have so the draft can be "fun".

PT is not OOTP. If they think they need a different ratings scale for PT to work as intended then then by all means put that in PT.

I agree. But, this change could have been publicized a couple of months ago instead of a couple of days ago. I know they devs had to have seen all the posts on this board and the tech board about this perceived issue but no one chose to reply until this thread. Now it has been explained thoroughly enough for people to understand what is going on. As far as the high potentials is concerned, I agree with you there. Kinda hard to believe any given draft year could have 25+ 4.5 and 5 star potential players. AND as a side note, I repeat, when is this forum going to work properly again?

Oh I agree completely. I'm just sharing where most players are coming from. It'll be easier to accept when we don't have such drastic changes from year to year.
I like the change as it makes it more challenging as more players are ranked similar overall.
