You can already do this with Doom's tool.

I always start my games in 1871 and like everybody else I'm no fan of the guys who hold the batting records since the days of the National Association... the image is the top 10 in my OOTP26 game, no way anyone will ever beat Meyerle in a million years!

From what I understand this is how the MLB count the records (on the other hand they don't really count the NA in the major league history so the real cut date is 1876 for the records).
